I think part of the reason the people you're recruiting to your guild are working out is because of how you're presenting yourself in these videos. You come across as a no bullshit hardcore type of person. That's an attractive proposition for a potential guild. We kinda know what we're getting into up front. I've been tempted myself, but I'm just not going to be able to put in the time that would be required.
it makes me sad that youre on the pvp server. I decided a long time ago, allowing random shitheads the ability to waste even more of my time than I'm already wasting trying to get something done on an absurd grind, just isnt an option. I torment myself with the grind not because "its fun" (that ended years ago) but because of the reward at the end of getting to finally play with the same people in a guild long enough to form acquaintance level friendships that could end in a second with just right amount of drama. Hearing people like you that have the same views and philosophies as me in so many ways, but not be able to actually find people like that in guilds over the years is incredibly demoralizing.
I’ve always said “In 5 years from now, you wont remember the loot. You’ll remember the people who you played with.”
I will say, you’re fighting an uphill battle. Most people in this game do not care about the group over themselves. It’s all about me, myself and I. I have been witness to some insane behavior over pixels on a screen. You become very jaded after you’ve been dealing with grown boys.
With the AH and the economy completely screwed (150g+ for Titans), the current time investment required to raid at a semi-optimal level is insane.
not sure how i even got recommended your channel. but i rly resonate w what you said considering im closer to the beginning of something quite similar regarding making meaningful connections through games with people you wouldn’t meet otherwise. cool shit 🙂
This one of the episodes where the main character self reflects on the battles he’s won as well as the comrades that have journeyed with him along the way.
A solid backstory, a current update on the progression of the guild, and a hopeful twinkle about the future and the adventures ahead.
A video that undoubtedly could have been made at 4:00am after several epiphanies and probably some of the drugs listed from the younger years.
A renaissance of Jakefromtree content is undoubtedly imminent, his hopes and dreams have been stated, and the band of brothers is undoubtedly forming. Dreams will be accomplished and the glory can be obtained, the only question is will you hit the subscribe button or not you fuckin grey parsing trash casuals
As I am a new WOW player and not have much experience playing with other people. I believe that the main problem is that there’s so many people who aren’t willing to connect and just solo grind whether if its COD, POE, League, and ect.. It’s very discouraging to look for connections when nobody else is trying to aswell. And I am sure everybody else is the same its some weird Feedback loop thats never ending.

It makes me wish I were an NA player when I listen to this.

That not-quite-sobbing-yet-but-it's-coming was quite something.
