  1. WoW is getting closer and closer to being dead, to me. If 9.1 isn't out by the time my current 6 month sub is done, I can't justify coming back. GW2 and BDO have already claimed my attention with their joint iron grips with their relatively frequent updates.

  2. Whenever a big corporation like Activision delays something, I always wonder if it's really because of QA issues… or if they've done the math and worked out the optimal time to release based on when subscriptions are due to renew, since a major patch is a weak-but-valid reason for people to come back and give them more money again. 🙂

  3. I'm so glad that it doesn't affect me in the slightest, I got over the depressing letdown culture that is ActiBlizz by getting involved with other MMO's SWTOR/FFXIV/ESO, which have more than enough going on and due to be released soon. I will be staying away from Blizz for at least 6 months I imagine.

  4. Islands actually did get a revamps through the whole expansion. The first change was actually the most dramatic.

In their very first iteration, Islands were pretty much the same thing everytime:
You do a couple mob groups.
A special event spawns (it is always Azerite).
You need to get to the Azerite first.
You finish up with other mob groups.

And it was extremely repetitive even for players who enjoyed Islands.

Loot was also pretty bad, with nothing to spend Doubloons on except powers, and rare items being just as likely to drop from Normals as Mythics (and being absurdly rare across all difficulties).

  5. does it matter at this point. if they even do 9.2 it will be late as well. I thought since Blizzcon was canceled, that means no new expansion on Year 2 like in the past.
if it's going to be 3 years between SL and the next expansion, why are you in a hurry to get to stuff you will finish in a week or two.
There may not even be a 9.2 at all. Bliz may decide to cut the losses and move on with the next expansion. If the next expansion is bad, 3 in a row, the "wow killer" mmo, is wow themselves; if they haven't already done that. ffiv seems to be taking a lot customers.

  6. Wouldnt be too bad tbh. In July I am on holiday and I would miss the first 2 weeks of the new patch which are the most fun. So yeah, let's delay til September or so. That would be perfect.

  7. I just want the developers to stop catering to the 1% of elite wow players who actually enjoy wasting 3 weeks of their life to do 0,4% more damage.

  8. Remember when they wanted to release an expac every year? well looks like we getting one patch a year and that's probably not worth paying monthly for.

  9. "New World" release end of August incoming – probably they throw in 9.1 exactly in this week to keep some people from switching over?

PS: "Blue Fields" from FFVIII / XIV in the Background is the best 😀

  10. If the patch comes out in July and it's good, I'm gonna start waiting for similar expose that Anthem had because they've had to crunch like crazy. But sadly more likely scenario is that they just give in to pressure, release it early and it sucks, making all this waiting useless.

  11. I wonder if the “success” of Shadowlands made them feel less pressured and therefore, slower. Cuz if that’s the case, boy have we heard this one before… The sales of the expansion is all that matters to them, and locking in that 6 month sub is all they have to worry about. Which they know the majority of you addicts will get. They don’t care if you’re not having fun. Plain and simple.

  12. I disagree about them taking the L on the patch quality over releasing sooner. I think they know they need this patch to be a win in terms of improving the quality of the game in order to save this expansion. If 9.1 is bad, 9.2 will likely be the end of the expansion since they will need to full reset of a new expansion to try to really stop the bleeding. If 9.1 is good though, they can use that to justify maybe a 5 month wait for 9.2 (January, use the holidays as a scapegoat to squeeze some extra time out). 9.3 in May/June, and a new expansion in September/October back on the "Normal" release schedule.
