  1. The content itself was fine, but whoever decided to make the Maw and Torghast mandatory is a dickhead, both were completely fine being vanity and the players liked them being vanity.

  2. The story for the immediate zones was decent but the whole Sylvanas ark and the jailer as a character really muddled it up for me. My biggest problem was the lack of engaging content. It seems like almost every new thing Blizz tried to implement just wasn't up to it for me. From island expeditions, warzones, Torghast, covenants, legendaries, language deciphering, etc… The only thing that worked at the time was world quests and m+ when it was fresh in legion. But it's been done so much today that it didn't have the charm it once had for me especially now that they take longer to complete with far less of a reward than they did in legion. Overall, my expectations for Dragonflight are not that high, to say the least. But in that low bar, there's at least no opportunity to go lower (but Blizz has been finding a way lately…).

  3. Yes it was bad, most dungeons were poo raids were ok, nothing to do in the world outside of world quests, Korthis the maw and ZM were just Dog shit zones ZM was the least dog shit but still dog shit compare these zones to mechagon and Nazjatar they are just not even close to the same standard. Content draught was pretty rough SL was the 2nd worst expac just ahead of WoD.

Torghast was good but forcing me to do it for legendries was a bad move.

Dont like m+ seasons having a Fomo mount each season makes taking a brake a real PIA

  4. Yes it was. The systems on top of systems on top of systems was horrid and this is just a personal preference. I hate where the story went. Afterlife settings are not interesting to me at all. So the expansion as a whole for me was honestly worse than WoD.

  5. Yes. PvE, solo play was absolutely abhorrent. It's amazing how quickly people have forgotten that every WQ used to give you like 35 anima. Actually unlocking everything only become a reasonable possibility with the release of Zerith Mortis, which was an absolute desperation move on Blizzards part. The WQ themselves were the worst the game has ever seen as well.

Barely any dungeons for the whole xpac, again. Although I guess this is the norm now. Some affixes were straight up broken or just had people refusing to do certain keys.

PVP was just as bad as BFA, the introduction of solo shuffle was another desperation move after plenty of PVP focused WoW personalities left the game.

Not only was the story absolutely atrocious but you had to wait like 12 weeks to make your way through like 3 hours worth of content. The amount of overlap/recycling between covenants was genuinely embarrassing. You also had to make four separate characters to realistically experience what very little, bad story there was on offer.

I can't think of a single aspect of this expansion that actually felt like any care was put in to it, beyond maybe the art? Which is always an easy cop-out, which expansion hasn't had good art(for the time at which it was released)?

Of course people are coming in to the xpac now it's over saying 'well this isn't that bad', yeah, you're playing three years worth of fixes/alterations.

If Dragonflight has even a few of the above issues I'm giving up on this franchise for good.

  6. I think the first 2-3 months were pretty good with the exception of Anima being too hard to gain. The problems began to emmerge as 9.0.5 took a long time to come out and provide the needed changes to M+ and Torghast needed much more work. It was missing may spec specific powers at launch. By 9.0.5, the first wave of tuning changes resulted in new bis covenants, and since then, the reception plummeted. Then 9.1 was a disaster.

  7. coming in before watching the video, I'll edit if the discussion changes my view: for me, Shadowlands was better than BfA. Main reasons: 1. The Great Vault 2. Valor upgrades 3. I generally liked Shadowlands Dungeons A LOT more than BfA dungeons 4. As bad as the covenant and soulbind restrictions were for the first half of the expansion, that system felt less bad (to me) than Azerite Gear. 5. The return of tier sets. I don't raid or PVP, my hating most of BfA dungeons kind of killed BfA for me. I hated what they did to the lore via Zovaal, but it seems like we're already moving on with DF so meh?

  8. My take: Story alone, outside of warcraft, this would have been an acceptable story. Honestly. Strange place where it turns out the entire foundation is rotting because of past issues hidden until now.

Once you tie it to live WoW it became shit. Gameplay aside because obviously it was shit.

  9. For me I think shadowlands is now officially the worst expansion Blizzard has ever made. It just had so many issues that past problematic expansion also had as well as new issues, without enough redeeming qualities to salvage it. The fragmented zones, the rewards in the open world were terrible relative to time spent (35 anima for completing an awful grind world quest), the Maw was literally just meant to just punish you without any redeeming gameplay, the systems on top of systems, the worst iteration of world quests ever, the alt-unfriendliness, the anti-RPG elements where significant choice was restricted for far too long, the awful story that only seemed to get worse as time went on, the awful legendary crafting system, Sanctum of Domination is the worst raid in the history of the game, the insane content droughts, 9.1 doubled down on the Maw aesthetic which was already awful so the new content felt awful immediately instead of feeling fresh, it just goes on and on.
