Archaeology was the only new secondary profession ever added to the game, and also was the final profession overall to be added to the game. It had many different parts to it, and today we will be going over those.

Still so pissed about no archeology in shadowlands, the one time we really fucking wanted it
Well… You still have archeology called refer a friend where you mine your friend for archeology like rewards. And it still takes months to dig for something good like irl.
I loved archaeology as a side activity and am still sad they abandoned it. And their excuse was bs cause if it's just an Azerothian thing there wouldn't be archeology sites on Outland, Draenor, or Argus. Like c'mon blizz…
What is the staff that the first character is using, the one with the book in it?
When archaeology was announced, I thought it was going to make us go on Indiana Jones style adventures, but we ended up digging in the ground a lot.
Ironic, isn’t it?
Great video, two handed frost dk is still trash
hey hirumaredx. Loved the video, and I have loved all the "history of.." videos so far. They're really well detailed and enjoyable. I have only one comment, and it's kind of a suggestion and I hope you hear me out and take it into consideration at least 🙂
It's a little weird how you always use past tense in these videos. You say things like "there was a questing system". While I understand you are talking about the time in the expansion, such as the legion quests for archaeology, I think since these "history of" videos have lots of old content and changes, it would be helpful if you used tense changes to mark things which are still in-game or doable in-game, or the same, and stuff which is gone.
In simpler terms, I think these videos would do better with a language distinction between content that is no longer in-game or has been modified, and content that is still completable and the same.
they really missed the opportunity by using archeology to trickle bits of lore for each area by making you obtain some lore exposition item like a lost journal or tablet, it gives you role plus if you collect all of lore item on spesific area, you can turned in on archeology vendor to get some reward.
You forgot to add that in MOP you use to be able to buy fragments with spirits of harmony, which is what alot of ppl did to get zinrokh
I really loved Archaeology when it was released, and I’m a little sad that Blizzard didn’t want to continue working on it cause it’s a great way to introduce more lore and more mounts/pets.
I hope that they eventually revamp or revive it
There are players who are perfectly happy just playing archeology, or the AH, or doing transmog.
Blizzard hates these players.
They aren't having fun the RIGHT way.
I wish Archeology would had had a place in The Shadowlands… I kinda miss it too

I remember alot of people burning out and quitting the game over trying to farm for zin'rohk during the launch of cata. It had a insanely low find chance and it was BIS for the first raid tier for a few classes.
A puzzle box that is extremely difficult to open? Do you want cenobites – because that's how you get cenobites…
I hate the fact that I didn't listen when I was warned against taking it up in NV WoW. Now I can't try something better without going to a different character. This is still an interesting video though
In Pandaria, your archaeology displays had a plaque you could click on to get the description. Then in Dreanor, you only got a mouseover with the name. And in BfA not even that. Why? It would have been so easy to add, and not having it makes the display no fun to go back to. I don't think I ever entered the room in BfA except for to complete a quest. It wasn't even a real display room, just some cellar you dumped the stuff. Why? Placing all the dig locations must have taken many hours, couldn't they spared one to make the display room worth visiting?
I did archaeology so much back in the day I knew the exact spot in each location to dig for the treasure.
The artifact hunting plus treasure hunting one some of my favorite memories from Mists.
JUST GOT ZIN’ROHK YEEEEEEET
What's the staff transmog on your priest in this vod?
just started with it, do I have to craft an artifact when the bar is full or should I keep saving up?
I had archaeology back in mop for 1 reason only to get the spear of xuen, because spear of xuen back in those days was problably one of the best two handed weapons in the game. The best part about it was it was equippable at level 85 and the power it possesed was abyssmal, running around in bgs and 1 shotting everyone was hella fun. Miss those days.
It had a good promise and then a bad start with the path of titans having been scrapped, then went down quickly and seems pretty abandoned. I can't remember any fun items from Legion and BfA was grey stuff only. I sometimes think the devs regret having it added at all.
I still miss it, I want more!
I absolutely love archeology. Hate fishing though. I don't why but archeology is the best profession to me
Wait. First Aid is gone?
huh? they removed first aid entirely??? Oh no!
….. So, anyway-
"Vykrul"? :'D
4:02 probably the reason it was abandoned was due to being borderline useless. Only archaeologist could use it,only he/she would gain the benefit and if you die or for what ever reason you leave the dungeon, you lose the benefit(and could not get it again for that run). And benefit was minor, like 5% damage taken reduction. If it was party wide and persist trough death/leaving,it would be much more useful…
1:23 shaman works alright but nothing on flight form.
Zin'rhok Destroyer of my life could not get this to drop in cata got everything else though what a pain in the arse that was.
but who put thos items there? for example for Loch Modan there is a dig site.. who put those items there?
Why do american wow youtubers have such trouble pronouncing vrykul? Like, it's not an attack on anyone, but it's something I've heard some many times and it always grinds my ears.
