Much has been said about Sylvanas in World of Warcraft and very recently in Shadowlands but the unsung hero of WoW Shadowlands and the recent Shadowlands Cinematics No More LIES and Sylvanas Choice must be Anduin Wrynn.

  1. Accolonn can you tell your take about what would happen if Varian was still here if Varian never died in the broken shore will Sylvanas ever made her move to destrey Teldrasill or will this conversations will ever have happened between her and Varian ?

  2. Honestly, I think that the story will culminate with Sylvanas realising Anduin is her counterpart in more than placement within the order of the universe. She, for unknown reasons to her, can't help but to love his tenacity and will to cling onto what seems hopeless, and always coming out on top.

But, I think it will have a tragic end, such as Anduin, because of the laws of his people, having to execute Sylvanas for her actions.

  3. the funny thing about "no more secrets" from Sylvanas, there has been still kinda untruths coming from Sylvanas herself.

And the one thing that Anduin quoted, "hmm there is yet again…and all her long talks…"
There is a saying that goes by this: "the one who talks too much, will make others believe harder?" or similiar. xD

Bascially, the way Sylvanas tried to expressed to Anduin, Anduin questioning her, made her doubt in her action & in the talks.

(maybe not the telling the truth 100%, but the believing in herself)

  4. And that momentarly second when sylvannas eyebrows soften at the very end.
    BTW
When remastered W 3 was talking about Frostmourne (Lich King speaking to Arthas), if it wasn't redconed that is –
Lich King: "The frostmourne takes and stores the souls of those it comes in contact with, yours was the first it claimed."
So maybe Sylvannas is paroting Jailor, or maybe Jailor is bending her will with the power of new mourn blade, cause her soul is slowly getting stolen once again with her free will.

  5. inb4 Anduin turned into a weapon, Sylvanas uses the weapon, Anduin keeps talking to Sylvanas until she turns on Jailer. Anduin goes full sayan since now he does something he believes in, Jailer ded, Sylvanas hero, everyone goes home. gg

  6. I always hated Anduin…until these cinematics. I also hated what Sylvanas became in BfA. The voice acting and cinematography is incredible, and it adds a depth to both characters that was missing in BfA content. I could see Anduin as a balancing force to Sylvanas. What I don't know is if Anduin or Sylvanas will survive long enough for the warbringer and peacebringer to actually work together. Sylvanas is clever, but using the Jailer isn't going to be a cake walk.

  7. She believes what she´s saying, but she needs Anduin to believe it, because she still has lingering doubts. If he believes it, too, then she can ignore those doubts and fully commit.

But, since he won´t, but she doesn´t want to force him, she will be forced to jump over her own shadow and trust Anduin with her plans. Then and only then will Anduin agree to go along with her ploy to overthrow /destroy /whatever teh Jailer willingly…. And something tells me those plans are probably what we´re going to be further exploring in 9.1. as well as future patches…. I don´t think we´ll truly understand it all until the last patch, where we´ll hopefully be left without loose ends 😉

  8. Accolonn, love your videos man. Watch every release and hang on your every word. I only have one suggestion! The background music although awesome, is drowning out your voice. At about 7…need to bring it down to about 3. Legend!

  9. What I had predicted before Shadowlands came out is that Sylvanas would have not merely a redemption arch, but would somehow be truly restored to life again. Then Tyrande comes in like a wrecking ball and ol Sylvia dies for good.

  10. Just a thought but what if anduin gets now turned to the child of light and shadow? a lightwielder in eh SHADOWlands …. yeah i know, there are thousand reasons for this not being the case, but would still be a nice idea in my book. I think at some point he turns tho since "the crown of light will bring only darkness"

  11. Are we missing something about anduin and his abilities? Anduin has shown powers beyond most light wielders but what has slipped through the cracks was his necromantic/holy powers he displayed raising calia! That's not normal. The light can't do that. That's deaths power. Was the bargain between Light and Death struck then? A lot of SL story started in the events of Legion.

  12. I'm just waiting for the moment that the "partnership" turns into servitude again, when the Jailer needs something she's not willing to deliver. I think Anduin will help her free herself in some form, for the last time. On a personal note, I'm not sure I want this – I feel like the human assists an elf trope is so incredibly tedious and repetitive in WoW so it might be refreshing with a different twist. But that's a minor nitpick of mine.

  13. If you look at it from an Undead point of view, Life and Death are one in the same. I kept overlooking that line "Nothing is fair. Not llfe. Not Death." Their existence is liminal. In the very same moment they are denied life and death at the same time. I have been so preoccupied with everything else that I have forgotten her voice lines for those who play Horde loyalists. She insists her plans are still fully entwined with the plight of the Forsaken.

I wonder if when she was contemplating the end of a great hero, when Guldan kills Varian, if she meant something more permanently. If she was contemplating whether his soul was destroyed. Which would go even a step further in denying both life and death. At least the liberated undead have part of their soul/self. At that point she would've understood the Shadowlands. That if he merely died, it wasn't the end. Rather the beginning of an eternity of servitude. That's why that part doesn't make sense to me, unless his soul was destroyed. Especially since one of her next stops would be the Maw, where Varian's soul would be. But I digress.

It would make sense if she wants to break the cycle of life and death completely. In a way making everyone on the same level as the undead. To a mortal, that sounds evil. It is difficult to wrap one's head around because our mortality is so important to us. Just like Anduin in this cinematic. "So you favour life?" But to someone who is undead, removing life and death from the equation altogether sounds like equality.

Know who would be an interesting foil to further the whole Anduin/Sylvanas story? Calia Menathil. On so many levels. Arthas' sister. Forced into Undeath by the LIGHT. They can't have so many connections between her and that plotline not to involve her in that somehow. Especially with her just hanging out in Oribos. Bearing witness to all of this with the rest of us with Bolvar. It would add an interesting take on the whole situation, considering it was Sylvanas who killed Calia. And Anduin being involved in her being made Undead. I have a feeling Sylvanas doesn't know about that, otherwise she would have used that against him in their discussions. (But perhaps Zovaal DOES know that Anduin is capable of using the light to create Undead, and we know by Undead Priests, Knights of the Silver Hand, and Venthyr that the Light is very effective against beings of death).

TL;DR Calia will probably be kidnapped by the Mawsworn next patch to advance the Anduin/Sylvanas story. I'm sure The Jailer would find her fascinating.

  14. Random, weird thought. No one escapes the maw, but obviously- our characters do, and it seems the brokers have the ability too. Maybe what is really meant is no SOULS leave the maw..and maybe there are no souls on azeroth lol

  15. As much as I WANT Anduin to stay the hero, I keep thinking back to the line that nothing in Shadowlands is what it seems. I'm worried he's going to wind up a big bad and a raid boss by the end of the expansion. Fingers crossed that I'm wrong though.

  16. I really enjoyed this video. I get frustrated reading comments from others who just seem to want to bash the writing or characters, so positive videos like this are really appreciated. Anduin has quickly become my favorite character, and I'm so excited to see what will happen next with him and Sylvanas.
