Vol’Jin was defeated all the way back in WoW Legion, however, in BFA he had a pretty prominent role and now in Shadowlands he actually had a questline where he was imbued with the essence of the Loa Rezan and given the opportunity by the Winter Queen in Ardenweald to be born a new.

What would this new Vol’Jin look like and when will he be reborn? Will Vol’Jin now be a loa, a demi-god, something akin to Bwonsamdi and no longer just the leader of the Darkspear trolls and a shadow hunter?

  1. If it's like Cenarius, who dies in War3 RoC and comes back in Cata, it's 11 years (Year 20 to 31) so as he died in Legion 36, he'll come back in 47 and we are in 37-38. But there's still the possibility of a time ellipse for next expansion.

  2. Vol'jin is my War Chief. That will never change. I still salute him when I go into my Draenor garrison.

It's not that Vol'jin didn't do much while he was War Chief but that he wasn't given the opportunity to do much that was visible. He had to scramble to keep the Horde together after Garrosh, trying to re-unite the pro-Garrosh and anti-Garrosh factions while assure the Alliance that the Horde wasn't gearing up for another round of idiotic attacks. He actually treated the PCs well and acknowledged their accomplishments instead of most expansions where the War Chief d' jour would either ignore everything we'd done or snark and insult the us (especially Sylvannas and Nathanos) despite everything we'd done. His death was poorly written – taken out by a no-name demon with poison even though he's basically immune to poison?!? That's about the only thing I'd be happy if they ret-conned into "The Jailer did it".

Vol'jin is the only good Horde leader. Thrall started off well but did a bunch of dumb stuff and ultimately deserted the Horde to go raise a family. Galliwax was always just a gross (and potentially racist) stereotype. Sylvannas has been ruined. Baine is bland; when the Jailer declared him useless threw him into the river Styx area, I just nodded my head in agreement and begrudgingly trudged over to rescue his useless butt after the cut scene. The Blood Elf leader is pretty much non-existent in the game. If I'm forgetting anyone, well that just shows how forgettable they are.

Whatever WoW does to Vol'jin, and they better give him the treatment he deserves, he will always be my War Chief.

  3. Becoming a demigod must have pretty low standards if all voljin did to deserve it was lead a lukewarm military campaign and Getting stabbed by a random felguard because he couldn't cover his flank.

  4. I know what I am about to say has nothing to do with the video but I had one question and that was, do you ever plan on making more roleplaying guides for the allied races and given all the new lore we have to work with. I hope to hear from you about this and if the answer is no, I would like to hear why! <3

  5. This lines up well with my theory that dragons is too narrow of a scope for the next expansion. That it's going to be about the rebirth of all of Azeroth's guardians. Aspects, Wild Gods, loa, etc.

  6. He would be a Loah, and many trolls thought Vol'Jin was a Loah for along while. This came form the books as a throw away comment, about another Troll wearing Vol'Jin as a Loah mark.

  7. Just yet another example of how terrible the idea of the jailer being this super mastermind and been controlling shit all along.

Voljin is one of favorite leaders. So when he died and he informed us that he was making Sylvanas warchief for a good reason it felt impactful. When Sylvanas spoke at his funeral pyre it felt impactful.

Now that it's supposedly been the jailer influencing everything it embarrassingly cheapens voljins death and everything.

God I hate this expansion and whoever thought this was a good idea…

  8. 7:17… how can the Maw serve no purpose anymore? There are still evil souls that deserve be condemned for their crimes. If we end up releasing any anima that the Jailer has that he hasn't yet consumed… wouldn't that overload or overwork the new Arbiter? Besides wasn't the Maw originally a afterlife for something before the Jailer was bound in there?

  9. So they aren't gonna do anything with Muez'hala?! And did we even kill or imprison Helya? What's with the story having so many unchecked problems? Is Prince Kael'thas coming back or just staying in the Shadowlands cuz he sounds like he intended to return to his people. Did they forget Arthas entirely cuz shouldn't his soul be somewhere and I don't think he is with Anduin or anything related to that encounter.

  10. VolJin was my favorite leader and I always felt his reign as WC was short lived. first non orcish leader of the Horde. I hope he’s sone kind of loa of the horde the alliance has Malfurion/Cenarion we have Vol Jin 💪

  11. The Horde or Warcraft needs Vol'jin back. We know how Shadowlands felt. .
Thrall highly respected Vol'jin as the true Warchief, that alone speaks many levels for Vol'jins character.
Alot of untapped potential Vol'jins character can bring with the Darkspears(any warcraft players ready for a new class?).

  12. Was really interesting to me is that elune says that she sent the souls to her sister this implies that night elves actually don’t go to the Shadowlands normally and that instead they would go to lifelands or become whisps .after all they were the first night elves there when we showed up and brought them from the mall

  13. One thing ppl tend to forget is that way back when they announced Shadowlands, the devs said time works in weird ways in the realms of death and that by the time we return to Azeroth, centuries might have passed. The we wouldnt go back to the same status quo once this xpack ended.
