The expansion’s new flagship feature came into its own this week as everyone from casual solo players to World First Raiders queued up with their coffer keys to get ther level 8 bountiful gear. But it didn’t exactly go to plan, as BLizz spent all week introducing huge new changes, leaving us wondering if anyone knows exactly what Delves are supposed to be

  1. I basically completed solo 6 lvl 8 empowered delves on week 1, they don't give any ilvl higher from there. It was fucking hard with the ilvl I had and now they are only easier, it basically old content for me now that I just have to grind for the weekly reward, which is a pitty, I honestly like it pretty much on the end. They adressed the main issue of torhgasht of, enemies have stupidly bland mechanics that you just have to stat check with random powerups. At least every single boss feels like it has its little thingy and each zone its little gimmick but don't last to long to become repetitive.

Also, they totally fucked up with the release of delves imo. They should have let the first week drop only normal tier loot and let the heroic loot for week two. NOBODY has the recommended ilvl to do the delves at lvl 8 when they were open, so why even open them? Just straigh up don't allow me. If you do, you fucking bet I am going in, it is basically the only real option I had to gear up.

  2. "it's too soon for Shadowlands Dungeons".. I wonder if we're gonna see Shadowlands timewalking. It would theoretically be the "correct" expansion for that, but DF "should" have added BfA timewalking and didn't so who knows.

  3. I’m loving solo delves, but that’s easy for me to say as a warlock with a tank pet. I haven’t even set foot in dungeons or raid yet (usually my MO). When I got the achievement that said I had done 50 of these damn things I didn’t truly believe it

Maybe this is overly optimistic, but why not give Brann a tanking role? I feel like that would address 99% of the discrepancies between classes

  4. Honestly War Within is really really enjoyable, there's loads to do, loads of choice, the campaigne being across alts is epic..but what I REALLY LOVE is Xal'atath…the character, the drawing of her the voice acting the STORY, and the fact that she is so PRESENT and relatable as a baddie, I mean usually you hear weird mocking voices and reference to and then you fight them at the end of the last raid…but Xal is everywhere and I LOVE It

  5. I'm blown away how much my own experience with the delves mimicked the way you described yours. Except I "only" went up to T9. Other than that, almost word for word, could have been the same journey. I also think Delves should be primarily solo, but I also like the idea of being able to duo, trio or quad a delve or dungeon, so I'm a big fan of follower dungeons as well, andI hope they expand on it. The problem is clearly balancing everything. You just have SO many variables to consider. Classes, specs, levels, item levels, gear, mobs, terrain, environment, mechanics, unintended side-effects etc. etc. it will probably never feel perfect, but it's starting to feel pretty good the last day or two after they buffed heal-Brann. Some bosses and elites also still have one-shot mechanics, and that's actually challenging, which makes it rewarding when you figure it out and overcome it. What wasn't fun was the ones that were unavoidable, like webshot, necrotic shot for non-healing classes (in the days when Brann was a terrible healer) the poison etc.

  6. I agree with everything you said about delves. I play a lot less these days but I like having solo content where I van push myself to higher, challenging levels and not have to spend precious gametime forming groups and dealing with toxic players. Delves right now are great and I hope they just keep improving them. I really just want good enough gear to push delves, not to start raiding hc.

As a bonus I'd also like delve chests to be able to drop rare Dirigible customizations and not just tie them to vendors/journey

  7. On the 4 day ban, nobody really knows why there were a shit ton of innocent accounts banned. We will never know. What I can tell you. I was effected, I play on a joint account. We were NOT able to choose multiple pacts. It's shared across your accounts. What I was able to do, is farm a shit ton of rep for multiple pacts due to the way rares drop rep for all pacts and can be looted daily which is not a bug. MY REP WAS NOT ROLLED BACK, but they did roll back quest progress… so now I just get to do the quests again? Smol indie company.

  8. As a casual player I am currently on tier 9 at 575, I am getting wrecked at the moment but its fun to be able to utilize my class to the fullest extent, now granted I am a fury warrior so I can see how a 575 mage would fall over pretty hard. But I am enjoying myself and will probably just keep running 8's until I am geared enough to finish 9+ and I am happy with that

  9. I think 18:2218:50 is what drove all the time-gating and borrowed power stuff by the devs in prior expansions. It's like the player base has lost the concept of progressing your power each week through gearing and enjoy the challenge that could be presented by not out-gearing Heroic dungeons 4 days after a new expansion launches. Therefore, in order to give players a sense of progress, they introduced Artifact Power and conduits because players were getting what used to be week 6 gear on day 6 and capping their progress.

  10. It's good that delves are doable solo, and it's great that we finally have meaningful stuff to do without other players ruining it for us with their disruptive behavior, but good God, what a torture! Mobs that take several minutes to die are so tedious. They flat out lied to us when they assured us delves would be quick – they are definitely not quick, and they feel even slower than the timer says they are.

  11. 8:29 😂😂😂😂 This one got me so hard!!!! 😂😂😂😂 I applied the spider filter way when it was introduced, of course I forgot about it by release and well into the campaign I was like what’s with all the crabs and dragonflies????? I found out that although I hate spiders, giant Crawdads freak me out more than nerubians 😂 and of course I also forgot where to find the option to remove it again.❤😂😂😂😂 This callback to that made my day. 😘 P.S. Found it eventually and thank u for reading my longass comment. 😅

  12. I do delves solo (T8 on my hunter but others can only do T7).
Unfortunately, there are bugs (like Brann often forgetting to throw potions until AFTER combat, or throwing them to the other side of the room so you die before you get to them) and the difficulty distribution is kinda disastrous (most mob packs are fine, but there are a few mobs that deal STUPID amount of damage, Harbinger-empowered elites that literally 2shot you with a spell spam you can do nothing about solo (you can interrupt like every 14 seconds but the mobs literally chain cast) or Zekvir spawning on you when you're already barely surviving and clobbers you for like 80% of your HP with every hit…
And I feel like there's no way you can deal with these solo, you just have to play a class with built-in stealth or buy invisibility potions to skip such to even finish it…. only to get useless loot 90% of the time and basically no other rewards – since the tokens take a good while to save up for.. literally anything, and there's nothing really THAT interesting with Delve vendors in Dornogal anyway

  13. What's this I hear about respeccing? Is that a recent change? Cause I tried and it wouldn't even open the fcking talent window, let alone let me change… then again might be just an UI bug, we got those aplenty this expansion

  14. DPS here, last week I could solo 7s, this week I can solo 8s and am considering trying a 9 before the reset. Duoed and grouped as well, but solo is my favorite for now. Thrilled with the difficulty, flexibility, quantity, and variety of the content. Minor quibbles here and there, but I think they nailed it and delivered on what they sold it as. I read the initial tuning issues as just growing pains for a completely new and complex feature. Totally understandable.

  15. When the first Delve change went in i couldn't finish the level of Delve i just did the day before. And i had to knock it back 3 levels to even finish one.

This has severely diminished my meed to play WoW.

  16. i did a delve 10 (587) one day before the nerf. then i went to bed and thought i can do the 11 the next day. but after that it was impossible.
early birds also got an easy Zekvir kill.
what bothers me is that they had alphas and betas and the mode came out completley broken and unfinished. we pay for the expansion and we pay every month. millions of players and they cant get this correct before it release. the QA doesnt exist anymore in this game.

  17. I'm not sure I would give Blizzard any credit for their cut scenes, they have given up on trying to tell the story through dialogue and quests and now have silly cut scenes every five minutes. This is a game, not a movie. They spend more time on providing you shinny objects and time fillers then crafting the story or developing classes or alternative classes. They have done a much, much better job this time with most the content, but it's becoming less of a game and more of an interactive movie.

  18. I don't even care as much about the balance changes, I'll just do a lower tier delve, as long as I can get my vault credits and slowly work my gear up and not feel stuck. I can also bring a guildie in at any time if I'm stuck on something and usually between them outgearing me and bringing more utility to the table that'll get it done, so far that's worked.

But damn does it feel condescending when Brann is like "FOUND A BIT O' GOLD!" and gives me like 3 gold, 24 silver. Come on, Brann, you're standing on a pile of gold. Let me fund my transmog addiction.

  19. I don’t get punishing players for in-game exploits. rollback makes sense, but tbh it’s not the players fault for using whatever tools that they’re given. (saying this as someone who isn’t even playing wow atm and hasn’t utilized any exploits in wow before)

  20. Tier 11 delves were really frustrating. Not solely because they were difficult, but the way in which they were difficult. Blizzard are perfectly capable of making compelling encounters, they've done it before. And what do delves give us?

AOE that appears beneath foliage and 1 shots you. Mobs that spam casts that 50% your hp. Mobs that evade your interrupt WHILE THEY'RE CASTING AT YOU. Mobs that evade in general. Mobs that bug out when you mind control them. Brann being unreliable.

I have a sliver of hope for this feature but right now it doesn't excite me.

  21. My biggest problem with delves are that unless you are a tank, your ways to deal with the damage being dealt is: running or a bunch of self healing. Just let CC work on the bosses, that way you can actually play your spec and deal with the damage in a fun way instead of kiting
