  1. Asmon and everyone crap all over Diablo 4 (rightfully) for being Blizzard'd from the beginning, and yet he and most of you watching will excuse literally anything in World of Warcraft even after calling it out; you all either never played D4, or like me quit playing D4 early on after realizing it was crap, but with WoW none of you will ever consider unsubbing, because Blizzard has you all by the balls LOL. Even at the start of this, notice he almost does an oops and denigrates gold buyers as well, but then he pauses for a half second and remembers that Sodapoppin and the rest of that guild are all buying gold or being 'gifted' gold that was obviously bought by their parasocial fanboys, so he clarifies "Oh it's one thing to buy gold, but this is literally hacking the game"?

LMAO it's just as much breaking the ToS as getting boosted by a fly hacker. Arguably it's worse for the game, because NOT ONLY is the gold that people are buying being farmed by bots doing literally this exact thing plus more exploits to farm said gold, but for example this group getting carried to 25 by a fly hacker doesn't somehow impact everyone else's game experience except for the marginal amount of gold they'll get from the dead mobs in the carries, whereas every single time another person buys another few thousand bot-farmed gold, they destroy the in-game economy even further because prices on average keep going up, because sellers know that 'everyone can afford them' yeah, everyone, who has bought gold. So the top players and guilds get further and further ahead and your average player gets left further and further behind, unless they… buy gold too. We know this from Retail, which has had this problem (with gold in the millions) for well over a decade!

As someone who hasn't touched WoW since the Cata changes, all I'm saying is, once you all complained about, as TotalBiscuit put it, "That Retarded Horse" being the beginning of the end, I just want to remind you all, that you're the ones who still went ahead and bought it and normalized that behavior from Blizzard. You just 'had' to have it in your mount collection, after all 'everyone else' had it too. That moment told ActiBlizz that you guys would buy literally anything they put out. You're all pretty much whales, and many of you are the big time whales who will buy literally every single thing they put out for WoW.

And then you have the gall to be 'surprised' and 'disgusted' when Blizzard adds another 50+ dollar microtransaction to Diablo 4 or WoW, or plans to sell the D4 expansion for a hundred bucks LOL. Don't worry, if you just keep saying that Blizzard Bad for doing this (but not stopping buying it anyway), Blizzard will surely any day now be sad that you're so mean to them and stop doing this shi- oh- whats that? You've seen Blizzard is selling that overpriced tier of WoW War Within with a few days of early access? YOOOO lets go, preorder that too bro! It comes with a shiny gold mount or sword you'll never use or something!

TL;DR yes surely flyhackers/botters are what is ruining Blizzard games Kappa

  2. A lot of times, these are a security breach and they have bypasses for checks in the game. If it is a 'who' that is the breach, that would be difficult to solve compared to a 'what'.

  3. Game dev here, why I wanted to become an 'indie dev' so just recently made my own studio. So there is a much bigger problem right now that goes beyond blizzard. The big gaming companies are slowly stopping to ban hackers, the reason being is that most games average 20-30% hacking as a playerbase and those players buy items in the game. They don't want to alienate their market for revenue, so they ban the 'really bad' hackers that can legally implicate them, but allow the vast majority of hackers to go to town.

  4. I've heard they let hackers get away with it for a while to get past paypal chargeback time in half of the cases, then they ban them in batches so half of them chargeback, costing the hack makers a ton of money in fees, and the other half who are past the chargeback window make the hacker lose that money. Or something like that, I didn't pay too much attention to the explanation, but it was an ex-dev at Blizzard.

  5. If blizzard stopped the bots the players wouldnt have to buy gold to be able to afford simple mats and basic greens from the AH.

After the first week of sod a stack of copper bars were almost 1,5g and lvl 17 greens 1g a pop..

  6. Blizzard can't handle hacking or botting. Same ip can have 500 accounts running too hard to figure are they botting. This boosters hacks/abuses are minor in terms of other. Why no one wants to play if game is flooded with bot accounts running or leveling?

  7. There 90 % pre in PvP if u have no pre u cant go warsong u lucky if u meet non pre. Nothing against the pre grps but PvP game for all that have no pre. Myb they can make a cap only so and so many players from 1 server or somehow that only pre vs pre works . If u have good gear and u join ppl new 25 with 0 gear its no more fun.

  8. its gunna be a problem till the game faces a breaking point, either they make drastic actions against the problems (bots, hackers, exploiters, mob like groups banning players ect). It would be a gamble when the true numbers are revealed when all the clutter is banned to people outright leaving completely from rage ect. But if they want any longevity this point they either fix it or let it putter out with bots and gold farmers till only them and full addicts remains. The later is basically happening at this point I think is safe to say and most of it revolves around the token and lacking gm teams

  9. When i saw that chinese bot farmer with 360 accounts open, i finally understand why Blizzard wont deal with botters. 360 accounts for one guy is alot of subscription money.

  10. I was an GM on a PServer on a game called Kal-Online to battle UG/OG hack (Underground/Overground Hacks) i got the dev to add Z-Axis checks based on the users coordinates

Example: Original Z coordinate should be -63 but the player is 300/-300 there for he will be expelled (kicked) which gets logged for dev/admin/gms to check instantly.

To combat speed hack we implemented base speed limits, you couldnt go over a certain amounts.
Example: Legit speeds were: 200 / 220 / 240 / 280 / 360 (buffs etc etc) anything that arent those numbers (below 200 is fine as u could slow players movement with stone of ice on weapons etc) It would be logged and player would be kicked. so if you were going 205-215 / 225 – 235 etc you would be flagged as possible speed hacker.

To combat botting if a player moved in a certain path every time and the intervals of moving (clicking to move as it was also a point on the ground and click to move movement system) it would be logged and a gm would check it out.

These things are so fucking easy to add to combat cheats (ofc ppl will find a way to get around them, but atleast it shows us they are doing something and not just ignoring it and waiting months doing banwaves)

I understand WoW is a different game with a ton more variables due to a ton of spells/buffs/mechanics to make players run fast / teleport / be knocked in the air etc etc… but its not rocket science to catch some of the shit ppl are doing like the guy in this video. It would take any skilled dev less than an hour to add a boundary in RFC where if a player is there it would be auto flagged for cheats as it would be impossible for anyone legit to get into that part of the dungeon.
