For nearly 7,000 years, high elven society centered on the sacred Sunwell, a magical fount that was created using a vial of pure arcane energy from the first Well of Eternity. Nourished and strengthened by the Sunwell’s potent energies, the high elves’ enchanted kingdom of Quel’Thalas prospered within the verdant forests north of Lordaeron.

During the Third War, however, the high elves were nearly scoured from Azeroth. Led by the death knight Arthas, a Scourge army stormed into Quel’Thalas, slaughtering almost ninety percent of the kingdom’s population. Arthas then used the mystical Sunwell to resurrect the fallen necromancer Kel’Thuzad, irrevocably tainting the fount in the process.

Fearing that the befouled well would obliterate his dwindling race, Prince Kael’thas Sunstrider gathered a group of Quel’Thalas’s defenders and destroyed the fount to avert catastrophe. Although the high elves were spared from continued exposure to the Sunwell’s dark energies, in the fount’s absence they suffered terribly from withdrawal. As a result, Kael’thas desperately searched for a means to help his people—whom he had renamed the blood elves—and thus he set out for the shattered world of Outland…

  1. "Nine of every ten of us. Slain by Arthas Menethil to raise that lich. Our noble kingdom, all but erased. You still bleed, do you not? Cut your flesh and count the drops of blood. Let nine fall and soak the earth for every one you save. Tell me what that does to your heart. For I can tell you precisely what it did to mine. Survival often felt more like a burden than a blessing. I did everything I could think of to keep our people strong. But perhaps the path I took was…" – Kael'thas Sunstrider

  2. The day before my sisters death she was still playing wow. We played it since 2004… I remember when the blood elves arrived.. it was such a big event for us. It became our favorite race… we had so many characters. I still love the game but my sister played way more than I so it reminds me too much of her. Idk if I can still play it now that she’s gone

  3. My bloodelf paladin back in BC was my favorite character and one of my first i played quite seriously. I always went so Silvermoon to craft jewelry but which was only taught there. But also I went there to get to my class teacher. Just because I loved the city so much.

Also the leveling in that area was great. That music brings back the good old days.

  4. will never forget playing a belf pally for the first time in Wrath back in the day, levelling for maybe 25 levels or so. was such a magical time. I played again when BC classic released, and it just wasnt quite the same, although I do still have fond memories. amazing race and music, and zone and everything. Some of the best lore in the game with Kael'thas. My belf's name was Kelthael. Legendary.

  5. They should make a leveling version of this game where you can just level to like…level 250 so every single area is relevant again, without level scaling. Just nice and slow leveling without any boosts or any help. For people who want to explore the entire world of warcraft. That, I would play. Keep the dungeons and everything, but make it like a leveling version of the game for people who want that. And no flying mounts except for outlands or areas you have to fly but you only gain it at the very end of a continent, but everything else is ground mounts. For people who want the slow, exploration version of wow again.
