  1. I feel like the twisting nether as a place has not been explored enough in game, even though we dealt with the burning legion so much during a couple of expansions

  2. Its hard to pinpoint exactly what is to come meant. The light of course could be a problem because of the fanaticism about it. The Twisting Nether where the Burning Legion comes from surely one of the greatest threats ever to Azeroth and came closest to conquering it. It not just the power but the sheer numbers it brings. The Old Gods or void is a major threat as well but is quite unstable in our reality. Is there something beyond that as we zoom out on the cosmological map, maybe, but is a more a threat then any of the others, that is the question isnt it. A cosmos divided can not stand is true but I think it comes down to Azeroth and her overwelming power. We always come out on top in the end and there is that connection we talked about again. Azeroth and her denizens will always stand against whatever is to come but all these forces can keep trying cant they.

  3. I don't exactly why, and I get the gripes towards Shadowlands lire and gameplay, but I gotta say that I personally found the lore and story to be not that bad for that expansion! Feel free to come at me in the comments. I know a change of direction is needed tho

  4. I think the Ultimate Evil is probably some "out of context problem" that isn't any of the known cosmic forces. Zovaal's dreadlords were infiltrating or manipulating all the forces, including the Fel, the Light, and the Void, and Zovaal talked about uniting the cosmos against some threat, which suggests that threat comes from outside the cosmos we know. I also suspect the Devourers we saw in Shadowlands have something to do with the threat.

  5. If only Zovaal was smart enough to write a diary or guide, in case he would be defeated.

Anyone strong enough to defeat him may be able to defeat the threat.

But no, he left the cosmos he cared so much about with fucking nothing.

  6. I have huge problems with the concept of shadowlands, it doesnt really look or feel like the realm of death, it looks like it was "ordered-tempered" (by titans?), Or blizz is just lazy…

  7. Xanatos Gambit? Either he succeeds and mind controls the universe, or he fails only because the Shadowlands and the mortal realms united against him, so they're more prepared to fight the Big Bad.

  8. I don't get why Sargeras would listen to Zuvaal. Isn't Sargaras leagues more powerful than Zuvaal? Afterall Zuvaal was merely created. He was basically just an avatar in the end. This whole story and lore just frankly sucks. I wish Blizzard would start writing their own content instead of vaguely ripping off the MVU. Shadowlands was essentially Blizzard trying to use Thanos and The Eternals backgrounds and applying it to their lore. It would be much better for the overall lore if Blizzard just took the hit and admitted Shadowlands sucked, say that Nzoth really won and that shadowlands never actually happened. None of it.

  10. well for myself i don't like shadowlands much, stopped playing the game for about more than 1.5 year.

The lore got me interested (starting with your deep dives)
It got more interesting further the end… but i don't know if blizz did rewrite the whole ending story to catch up and get players back.

But for myself they went to far to soon. To big of a stepstone.
Story is not much related anymore to what happend on azeroth and they tried everything to get back on the track. But they failed very hard at the beginning of shadowlands.

  11. The burning legion is also bringing everything under their flag! So it can't be that they are the force Zovaal was talking about. All the known forces are doing the same thing, they just want it to be under their flag. So the "Thing" Zovaal was talking about, must be something else than the known forces.

  12. 1. Consider this: what if it wasn't just one soul that revealed the ultimate enemy to Zovaal but all of them? some pattern or fragments in the background of every souls experiences which Zovaal eventually pieced together and realized that it was a big threat to everything.

    2. I doubt the enemy Zovaal warns about is the Light, he made a deal with the Light to bring back Caelia if he is really that afraid of what the Light might do to the universe why would he be willing to release Caelia so the light could bring her back as undead? I think it's more likely that the enemy he warns of is either outside the cosmos or something we do not know of yet. Twisting Nether doesn't fit for me either as it is a known force in the cosmos where as Zovaal seems to be hinting at something unknown.
