Got a little excited about Warcraft 9.2 – Eternity’s End initially… then I reflected back on what saga it was actually ending and how it just doesn’t thematically fit at all.

  1. WoW ending its sage, making it up while they going rushing another end look at all this lore we just wrote last minute! FFXIV lore and storyline feels like it was planned years ago giving us likey ton of hours of story content against WoW's 15 minutes story content with 10 time gates between it.. Yeah WoW already lost this battle!

  2. What made me adore Warcraft/WoW was the feeling of being in a world, the sands of Vol'Dun, the barren wastes of the Barrens, the charm of Elwyn and the Night Elf zones, the ambiance that made you feel at peace even while getting your face torn off by the enemy faction. Shadowlands is such a disgusting mess in terms of narrative, lore, character writing, general UX, and so much more. I started playing FFXIV in June I believe and finished Shadowbringers patch content about 2 weeks ago and it's easily become one of my favorite games of all time, if not my favorite. I feel like such a moron for forcing my self to slog through BfA and Shadowlands while some of the greatest story telling in any game ever was being done in FFXIV. The only other FF game I'd played before was the 7 Remake, but I'm going to play every game in the series now because this game has genuinely changed my outlook on life, people, and friends. I hope that WoW can somehow become a top game again, but at this point I don't see it happening. If Blizzard/WoW crash and burn, so be it.

  3. This new wow zone reminds me of one of those lego minecraft sets. Also ”its all only white” and ”they can only make out some shapes” just sounds like a glorified budget cut.

  4. For how much WoW is pushing this idea of "its the third saga" and having this overarching narrative, it really just dosent feel like it. Aspects like the Jailor, the afterlife and how it works, a lot of the entities we have been meeting feel so incredibly disconnected from the time of the lich king. A lot of these people, groups, ect we never even HEARD of before shadowlands. While 14 has been building this conflict with the acians, Hydaelyn, and zodiark since ARR. Sure, there has been pieces and people that have come and gone, but it really feels like we have been BUILDING on the story rather then being given a new truckload of characters and just told "yeah totally its all connected trust us" like WoW is currently doing. Unless they really can pull a "you all just couldnt see it" move and somehow string together events and elements going as far back as they are claiming into a cohesive and solid plot, its just going to sound like a lot of blustering and sad attempts to seem like there is an actual plot.

  5. I can't wait for the retcon retconing the previous retcon that rectoned the previous retcon.

Every time I have impostor syndrome, I just go get my dose of BFA and SL lore and I instantly feel better !

  6. The guy talking crap at the start is talking like people still care about their "story". It's pure garbage!! Sylvanas Windrunner was my favorite lore character and they absolutely trashed her character with BS retcons and "plans". The Forsaken were ruined as a race. The world lost Teldrassil and the Undercity. The can f**k right off with their "saga"!

  7. Yoshi P: Endwalker is the end of an eleven year old saga.
Wow: Eternity's End is also our end of a saga of the first chapter of the third book of the fourth series of books in the entire 568 series of books.
