Most of the game animations are either 60 or 30 so there is no good reason to play the game in more than 60 FPS most of the time , maybe 120 are ok (mostly in PVP and only there you should go higher for lower input latency) but more than that only helps kill your hardware faster while gaining nothing out of it especially if your monitor cannot show more than 60..
Edit: And you don't want the back ground FPS to be at max, you should want them at 8 FPS the lowest, so your hardware can get a break when you at tab.
Do not unlock background Fps, because if you do so , your computer will swim to cover that refresh rate when the game won't be your main window , like with the Windows R button for example, leave the background one at 30.
You are forced to play in Fullscreen (windowed) mode now which caps FPS at 60 regardless of these settings. Any idea on how to bypass this?
Work
Thanks

well mine is locked in 60 😛
Logical advice would be to sync your FPS to the max refresh rate of your monitor.

really? why max if your monitor catch max 144 fps xd
Disable Multisample Alpha-Test and then Triple Buffering. These options are terrible for wow!
