The last video was a bit long-winded; here is a much quicker time-lapse version showing the map changes across all expansions through War Within. I’m using exported map files from the wow.tools site. All maps maintain their original, relative sizes, and I’ve used the in-game drawn maps to guide placement of land masses relative to each other. Thanks for watching!

  1. I find it amusing how absolutely crowded the eastern part is. But what I dislike the most is how hard they fail to build up the discovery or introduction of each place before the release of the expansion with Outland and subsequently Draenor having the best buildup with the opening of the dark portal ahead of time and outpouring of demons/orcs.

  2. I remember a meme back in 2016 that how it would look the map in 2022, crowded by islands and small continents. It is has became truth. In my opinion, they should make the broken isles, Kultiras, Zandalar and the Dragon Isles smaller in overworld map. They are not current content anymore.

  3. They should put new stuff on the back side of the map, how are any of these places lost? How does anyone travel from the Eastern Kingdoms to Northrend and not accidentally land on the Dragon Isles or Broken Isles?

  4. Easy fix.

Keep to the original lore and geography, add new features and update regions in Kalimdor and Azeroth/Eastern Kingdoms per new expansion as to not freeze them in time.

We could have gotten an even bigger revamp of the areas.

I’m all about Zandalar, Northrend, Kul Tiras, and any other island or area that was mentioned in Warcraft 1-3.
