World of Warcraft The War Within Alpha gave us our first playtest of new allied race the Earthen Dwarves in the Ringing Depths, but it seems they won’t be the only new playable option in this first chapter of the World Soul Saga. As testing of the Hallowfall zone looms, we look at three new playable races and customisation options which appear to come with it. The Arathi Half-elves will give players pointed ears for humans and rounded ears for elf players. The Harronir appear to be the “missing link” in the Dark trolls evolution into Night Elves, proto-elves if you will, and have so many customisation options in the data that they seem certain to be a new allied race. The Lightforged Forsaken finally make their debut appearance after Calia Menethil was first empowered by the Naaru in the Before the Storm novel. We take a closer look at these new player options and customisations!

  1. Half Elf's would be AMAZING. I have always wanted to play one as one of my favorite fantasy characters EVER is THE Half Elf Tanis Halfelven from Dragonlance. I would so make some of my characters Half Elves instantly. Not sure how i feel about the Harronir but i AM looking forward to seeing the lore around them, if they become playable i will probably have 1 at least. Lightforged Forsaken, not for me but it is nice new lore and it's needed to open Paladins up to everyone along with other new lore that needs to take place.

  2. 10:19 ok i am gonna say it because i cannot believe you have not noticed or mentioned it.

those are a Quillboars evolved…. is really that obvious.

look at their face, look at their quills, look at how the dress THEIR UNDERGARMENTS ARE UNDERWEARE MADE OF LEAF AND THORNS.

those are not Elf or Trolls they clearly are Quillboars that most likely had the same experience as the Dark Trolls, considering Quillboar live underground and considering these guys live right next to the world soul it would not be weird if they are a evolve Quillboar that manage to tame their natural rage and evolve into a new race similar to the Nightelfs.

like come on! am i the only 1 noticing the obvious?! come on man i know Quillboars arent popular but these guys are clearly related to the Quillboars their design is WAAAAY TO SIMILAR TO THE QUILLBOARS…

  3. "They changed because of environmental factors" That's kind of also not what evolution means, I am being really annoying saying this, and if you're upset about Idc, evolution is genes being carried forward through who gets to make babies, that's it, the 'environmental factors' are 'who is thriving in said environment and can therefor make the babies', rather than 'Hey our noses just randomly changed because we were in a cold climate and we adapted to it'

  4. I'm surprised there aren't more Undead playable races.

I wish they would drop another playable faction but they never will. Something small and out of the way of Horde and Alliance but still there. Like a beast faction. Let us play as murlocs and gnolls and kobolds and shit and just pester the bigger factions.

  5. But guys, my family came up with an idea, because we very much don't think the harronir are troll-elves; after all, why would some trolls evolve fur and quills, but then immediately evolve to not have fur and quills, thereby becoming elves? Instead, what if… they're evolved quilboar?

  6. Ah yes, more shoehorned diversity from Blizz because what else would they do?

Deflecting that it's "racist" to point out a difference in skin tone in a family is just disingenuous coping. Do better.

  7. Question. This might be a reach but, would that big ass crystal be the tip of Sargeras's sword? Like he was purposely aiming for that area? I mean they kind of teased it in the trailer with thrall and anduin.

  8. I am curious of the Harronir, true they look like a mix of troll and elf, but I wonder of where WoW is making them as their version of, Bugbears (Im aware Bugbears is a bestial orc in DnD terms) When you compare the two, they are tad similar of the Bugbear and Harronir

What got me more curious is the possible "Harronir" forms we druids may obtain (Along with other forms in the later future)
