  1. Just my 2 cents but, I think theyve done a lot to bring back players, theyve killed artifact like systems, legendaries, it sounds like the game will be more alt friendly, etc. I've been tired of that grind for ages now. The only thing I'd like to see is more story representation for other races beyond the most played races. Not to mention "paying out" on cut storylines, for example, what the hell was Baine doing in SL? Also, some back end "easing" of older legacy content would be nice and making the covenant appearances and other such stuff easier to unlock when you already have on alts.

  2. They bring players back when they launch a new expansion.
It’s how well can they keep those players.
Literally stuff to do in the overworks and a new 5-10 quest chain weekly/biweekly would do that.

  3. They've not done anywhere near enough to make up for past laziness, failures and scumbaggery.

They are starting to but once they have the players back they'll revert back to how they were again.

  4. Shadowlands was a bloated, time gated mess with the illusion of player choice making a difference. I have higher hopes for dragon flight , but I’m not gonna set myself up for disappointment.

  5. Personally I think they've done enough to get people who really, really wanted to play back into the game. Dragonflight made some steps in the right direction. And it gives them something to continue to build on.

That said, it's too early to tell. I resubbed and decided to check out Zerith Mortis because it seemed pretty well received, but I didn't last two hours. The new talents are fun, but playing the game just didn't feel great.

I'll wait till the pre patch event before making a final judgement, because maybe just getting out of the Shadowlands will help. But as of now I'm just not very excited to play anymore.

  6. Even if they were perfect at it in the end. In life the say goes you can't please everyone. There are those players that was so broken from the years of Blizzard poor story arcs nothing will get them back it's over. In the end of the day it doesn't matter anymore. Just make it better going forward. If some come back and see the changes that's good. and needed and enjoy the changes good. if some don't come back. They don't come back. in the end move on and keep making it better everytime for those still playing and for new ones coming forward.

  7. 8.2 actually had a pretty good reception. The bad taste players had from that was that even though the catch-up gear was good for alts. It was completely RNG and could roll sockets that was better than dungeon gear. So players had to play the nazjatar lottery rolling gear trying to get sockets

  8. Tru facts: the amount of my life I put into this game is staggering 5 years play time. After fucking it all up, they'd need to send hookers blow and about 100K USD to make me mutilate my life's dreams
    again

  9. I don't think they understand why and how people play the game. They don't understand why people left Shadowlands. We still see shills on the forum claiming that there was nothing wrong with the expansion, it's all the fault of unreasonable expectations. Or mind control by Asmongold. They are flying on their prejudices and preconceived notions and aren't willing to do the research that would be required to find out exactly what will result in retaining players with a variety of interests, skill levels, and playstyles.

  10. for the past few xpacks at least, the gameplay was always a sore spot for me, followed by questionable storytelling. graphic design & music have always been fine, at least for my part.

  11. They always started strong in the past few expansions, then fell silent on making the borrowed power, etc. stuff better. We got buyable legendaries in Legion at last patch, 7.3.5, when allied races came. We got buyable azerite and whatnot much later into the expansion in BfA. Some only when corruption became available. We got the renown-catch up much later in Shadowlands.

I think I can see a pattern here… take the most obnoxious, RNG and/or grind thing you can think of, and make it a slog for nearly 2 years. I dont think thats bad dev decision, when everyone would see that problem. I think its down to them knowing fully well what people hate and doubling down because Antivision. We'll see how Microsoft will treat Blizzard, but Bobby absolutely wanted to run it into the ground, thats for sure.
