Quick guide on how to mount in the Maw by getting the Mawsworn Soulhunter mount! Once you unlock the Beastwarrens you have to complete the Shadehound hunt and kill the Gorged Shadehound which has a chance to drop the mount. The Shadehound hunt rotates in every two weeks for a chance at the mount. This is the best way to mount in the Maw for now until layer 8 of Twisting Corridors in Torghast becomes available for the Corridor Creeper mount which also lets you mount in the Maw.

  1. Srsly i didnt even know about this and it dropped first time i did this quest. Maybe i will do my maw shit on a daily base now since it is not.
Is it really just 1,7%? According to wowhead it is, so this would be my first ever super rare mount since Hualon back in MOP in 2014!

  2. UGH and this is why reputation needs to be account wide…… so we need to grind rep in the maw on alts to be able to have more of a chance to get this stuff. garbage

  3. Sup dude, me again 😀 I watched this video when it was released, but players have found something rather interesting regarding this mount. You might want to pin this comment or make a updated video for your viewers, since YOU DO NOT have to be ambivalent or have the Beastwarrens unlocked to farm this mount. Also you have to be a maniac to unlock this shit rep on any other characters than your main, so mount is the only thing that's interesting for everyone here. Here are some points on how to do it and what's different if you don't have it unlocked:

    – IT IS possible to go to the Beastwarrens and tag the Hound for a chance at this mount. All you need is a character that is able to heal himself (Protection paladin and balance druid work just fine, tested this myself), and on characters that don't have any forms of self heal, just buy food and eat mid fears (Death knight).

    – The Hunt is NOT visible on the map, or the minimap for characters that havent unlocked it. You also don't see progress on your UI. I never waited for more than 10 minutes though, so it's not that bad.
    – If you don't have the Beastwarrens unlocked, you have a debuff that fears you once or twice a minute. That's literally the only annoying thing.
    – The fear lasts around 6 seconds, and it drains exactly half of your hp. It's not number based, but % based, meaning the dot was hitting way harder on my DK tank, than it was on my balance druid. It drains exactly 49% of the hp if you don't get hit by anything else.

    – I have the Corridor creeper mount, making it way easier to get to the area. One thing however I advice, is that when you get close to the hound area, dismount. The fear on the mount is so fast, and will most likely pull mobs that hit quite hard, while the fear on your normal speed on the other hand, is managable.

    – I always park myself just at the entrance of the cave where the hound flees upon completing the first part of the event. Out of 40 fears, not a single one pulled a mob, so it was all good. Yeah i'm a dick for afking there and letting others do the event for me, but it's still too risky to go and kill mobs since they hit hard as hell, and combined with fear, it's virtually impossible to kill.

    – Upon killing the hound and looting it, the Rarity normally counts the attempts. There are also screenshots and proof that you can obtain it without having the thing unlocked.

Best of luck with your farm…. I personally believe that they are utter dicks for making a 1,5% drop chance, that's available once every 2 weeks. Fu***ng Blizz…
