  1. I had a friend in wow that i played with everyday for 1-2 years, one day he decides to quit the game but before he left he was like: im a gold seller, i usually charge x per gold but I will give you a 90% discount as I am trying to get rid of all the gold and only I will give you the best offer. I was legit shocked but i laughed pretty hard at it afterwards. (context: this guy never approached me before on gold selling, this was the only time as he wanted to quit the game)

  2. I killed a gold farmer bot in lava with a knockback mob pull, a few hours later I got told by a GM that I got mass reported for it.

Because I killed the Main Bot his accounts were mirroring so his "on follow" bots on multiple servers… JUMPED INTO LAVA!

The bot farmer was so angry, he reported me for griefing… and accidentally sent a ticket from all of the accounts, on servers I don't exist. The GMs were really confused until they tracked me down and pieced it together.

I multi-verse killed a gold farmer, and got him to self report all of his accounts to be banned.

  3. I have a "fun" story about my old GM from Cataclysm.

So, initially he seemed pretty neat. We got together at 85 and would run ICC 25 to get used to working together as a team, understand what's required of us as raiders, and build up that camaraderie that's pretty important for working together well. So, a couple months into Cataclysm we find out he's been banned and is communicating with officers via texts. We come to eventually find out that he's nigh permabanned from the game because he (Blood DK main) was opening tickets to then swear at and verbally abuse Blizzard employees answering them because he felt a Blood DK should never lose in PvP and would do this LITERALLY EVERY TOL BARAD LOSS.

  4. That was kinda me back in like '05ish XI. Only one account, no RMT, but wrote some bots and got bant. lol… Wasn't shy about it to my guild/LS though. 😅

  5. I'm not even surprised, considering Pirate Software had a friend who was botting on his home computer while walking around Blizzard's offices and was so obvious about it, someone at the company pulled PS aside and went "he's doing it literally right now man."
And said friend got the most Disappointed Dad look ever.

  6. 10-15 years ago i worked at a lan center and we had around 10 people from a top10 eu guild bot gold on their own accounts. the amount of resources required for top level play os insane and i understand why they would do it, but it was still pretty fun to see them use their own accounts.

  7. I saw something similar in ESO. People are outraged that the community sucks and they were banned for no reason, even though they didn’t do anything. Then information comes up that they are using bots or have started insulting someone from their party…

  8. this is just MMO's in general now. The amount of botting in FF14 is insane, met some people who were into it and they got me into it around shadow bringers, eventually stopped because "Why am i paying for a program to play the game im paying for monthly for me".

However once you've seen it, it's hard to unsee it and it's probably worse now than it's ever been. Especially with just normal players and certain plugins.

  9. My high school best friend had a bad nightmare (like…dark shit). His dumbass told his guildies about it and they swatted him. I had no idea why he had dropped off the face of the earth for 4 days until his mom told me. He didn’t get his computer back for a good 6 months even though he didn’t do anything (and wasn’t going to).

  10. Same in my MMO. Nice guy, very charismatic. Recruited enough people- including me- to turn his guild from #2 to #1. We were dominating. Everyone in the top 5 of our guild got accused of cheating but all the reports against me and the #2 were found false.

Anyways members 1, 4 and 5 all got banned. Nuked that friendship very fast lol
