A recent post from Blizzard has signed off on a ban on third party software that allows multiboxing – the act of emulating a single keystroke across multiple World of Warcraft clients. This will have a huge long term impact on the game which we’ll briefly discuss.

  1. I was really hesitant on buying Shadowlands. Lately I've been really tired with WoW and quite a big part of that was multiboxing's effect on economy which pretty much killed my goldmaking.
Now with this change, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna buy Shadowlands

  2. It's not like multi boxers were selling their goods at half the price or what: they were actually maintaining a tight control over prices of their items on sale. So, maybe (and I stress "maybe") there might be some lower availability of mats on realms where people don't like to farm (i.e. In mine) but I'm confident this change is for the greater good.

  3. At the start of BFA anchor weed was incredibly expensive. Presumably that was with all these multiboxers farming it. So how expensive are flasks going to be in Shadowlands?

I understand the botting argument and I think it's probably a good change. Just airing a concern.

  4. if the material in the torgash tower is tradable the multiboxer will effectively destroy the prize in the long run and we normal players will be the ones who will pay for their crappy way of playing, it was time this decision was made against the multiboxers

  5. It's good. Frankly I don't enjoy it when you queue for a brawl and there's a 10 account multiboxer hitting at the same time and oneshotting members one by one. If it wasn't for the pvp thing, I wouldn't mind all that much – with pvp it's basically cheating, because no 10 players would be able to align their attacks so perfectly without allowing the other side to try to heal through the damage. It's one thing to focus a plyer and not be able to heal through the damage and another for life to drop to 0 in one stroke and get NO option to heal at all.

  6. I think more people will try gathering now that its worth more, which will make it not so expensive. However during times when players leave such as after initial release or during bad patch etc, I believe some servers may see scarcity, which will force other players to farm themselves. I think its overall positive change

  7. im an on and off multiboxxer for fun. Most of the times just one active account.
I didnt rape people in PvP, i rather helped them in pve.
I didnt farm nodes for hours or rushed trough instances for money. If a Spot was taken or somebody came to my area of killing stuff i either shared or moved somewhere else.
I tried different combos and the ability of what i can achieve with those combos. And i had a lot of fun doing so.
Take care guys, this is the end of over a decade of wow for me.

  8. I'm kind of torn on this. I flat out hate multiboxers, as someone who enjoys herbing. They ruin my experience. But…. I also understand that it's been a big part of the game for awhile, so there probably was another way to go around this. So…. I sympathize? But personally, I'm very happy!

  9. It's fantastic. If someone wants to power level their alt and just /follow and alt+tab, have fun. Knock yourself out. So glad these botters are done.
