  1. I really like the idea of that system and hope it wont take too many point to upgrade an item.
In the current datamined version it costs 1000 valor to upgrade a two-hander ONCE.
So that would be 4 weeks to bring that weapon from 210 to 220…

  2. Valor points wouldnt be needed if the great vault didnt give duplicates and prioritised spots that needed upgrades.

I was fine with getting a single unwanted item from the vault in bfa but when u get 3 dupes for a slot u dont need. Thats just fucked up

  3. I strongly disagree with the 1500 cap you can hold. It can take several weeks for a loot that you want to drop. Especially if you don't farm it.
This means you cannot stack up valor while waiting for an item to drop.
Likely this will mean I will stay at 1500 valor, and just not spend it, and therefore not gain anymore for weeks.

  4. I personally only have 1 issue with this system and it's that current gear will not be upgradeable. Other than that I like it, I play 4 toons pretty harfcore based on what my guild needs, a healer, a tank, a melee and a ranged dps. And since I play so many toons I can't quite get my KSM cause all 4 toons are in the gear plateu sitting at 206-208 ilvl

  5. So basically if i am reading this right either Blizz are going to do us a solid and nothing but the highest upgrade is gonna cost 1.5k to upgrade or we are going to be forced to upgrade to each ilevel until we reach 220 due to the cap but at least we can earn 5000 over the week so its farming the 1.5k use it and then farm more.

  6. there still needs to be a gear vendor that sells the base version, so that you dont end up farming a dungeon untill VP cap without getting the thing you wanna upgrade.

  7. Are these bellularesque thumbnails – "WILL IT BE ENOUGH" – really neccessary for you creator guys to game Youtube? I am always inclined to just skip these videos 🙁 And to the actual topic: Valor will never be another gear aquisition route on the same level as mythic raiding / 14-key vault items / 1.8k+ PvP. It's clearly a catchup for alts and kind of bad luck protection on mains. But nobody should think, hope or ask to be Valor just another venue to get BiS gear.

  8. there should totally be at least SOME buyable gearpieces with valor. maybe the stuff out of the worldquests. one of those trinkets looks insanely good for tanks, but you will never have it at a good ilvl (if you gear higher than 200 for example). this way you always have a sink, even if you dont get something. but in my opinion if i reach the cap, i dont upgrade random stuff. i just wait till i get a good drop.

  9. No man its not the point, its just stupid to only bring 220max. Just do some m+ and you will get it in the great vault !? What is the point then off bringen an item too 220, if you getting it 226 in the vault ? Its stupid. Do it like pvp 226 and 233 gear.

  10. I think m+ finally has the path for players to gear up on. Right now we have the "great hole" that appears around 205ish and it gets really hard to bump up beyond that unless you are really clearing heroic raids every week and pushing vault limits to the higher points. Has a lot to do with how they did the item level progression per key level increase around 10 or so. Then a lot of RNG of course. Now a player that hits 10s can get up to 216 and that's a big bump from that stuck at 205 range. So more players will be doing 12s so the vault starts feeding 223s, and over time that means more people are doing 13s and 14s that start feeding better gear in the vault, and then people can start working towards that 15. Right now 15s are a pure skill barrier. I think BEYOND 15 should be a pure skill barrier. Not to say 15 shouldnt take skill. Not saying that at all. But right now if you aren't gearing from pvp, raids, or getting insanely lucking on the vault you are skill blocked and in a way gear blocked.

  11. So we'll have the current gear to farm and upgrade that will be (kind of) obselete when 9.1 will release only to (re)farm again and redoing the same thing (get gear and upgrade it) ?

  12. The need to increase the limited from 1500-5000 for the very reasons mentioned about the great vault and to prevent over capping as people should only upgrade gear till after weekly vault

  13. I think the real take away for people worried about having a big Great Vault hit, on that piece you have been boosting through valor, is simply this: Don't do that!

Since we know that if we decide to dump all our Valor into a single piece, it would suck to have the great vault just remove all that progress.

Instead it's going to be more valuable to spread out your valor across a few items. This might be annoying the first week with bad drop luck and no option to upgrade. But once you have a Trinket, Weapon, Chest, etc. all primed to be boosted by valor, I would recommended spreading it out evenly, and bringing your character ilvl up smoothly.

I would also argue it's probably ill advised to put valor into items that are far lower then your average item level. Even if that sweet sweet trinket you have pumps, but its still a 200 while you are sitting at 212 average ilvl, you are just asking to dump all your valor into it to get it to 207, just to have it drop at 210 in a +15.

    TL;DR
    1) Spread out your valor spending across a few items to avoid dumping it all in a single piece just for it to get replaced on reset.
    2) Avoid putting valor into low ilvl gear, and try your best to stick to only upgrading items that are already 207+.

Follow these two steps and you should avoid getting burned too bad.

  14. This doesn’t make sense… how can there be a cap of 5k but you can only hold 1,5k. That must be a typo… it would only make sense if the max amount you can hold is 15k. Starting at 5k + 750 weekly until we max at 15k. The intern forgot a zero.
