  1. As a new player, I recommend binding A and D to strafe left and right, instead of turning the camera with them. This will make it similar to other FPS games where WASD will move your character in all directions. Turning camera will then just be done with mouse. Much better!

  2. Spell binding is cruical in this game. I recommend 3 rows of the bottom middle action bar and using 12345 and shift+12345 and altgr+12345, thats a lot of spells taken care of. bottom row standard attack abilities, middle row defensive cooldowns, top row offensive cooldowns for example.

    also use Q, E, R,T, F, X , C (whatever you can reach without moving your hand from W.
Using a mouse with multiple buttons (mmo mouse, or just a standard 5 button mouse) also helps a lot.

This game is nice, really overwhelming but worth getting into.
(commenting this during the character creation no idea whats next )

  3. Some more basic tips:
    – try and get used to controlling your camera
    – Left click and hold, then move the mouse to rotate around your character
    – Right click and hold and move around to rotate your character (instead of A/D)
    – move your spells to different positions on your bar (generally your core combat skills on easy to reach buttons and important utility skills like Pummel (interrupt) also on reachable buttons
    – i generally use 1-2-3-4-5 and then Q, E, R, F that wont be enough for all spells you‘ll end up having but its a good start 🙂

  4. I came across you on TikTok, and now again on youtube. Thought I'd tell you about a couple keybinds that could be usefull. If you press P it will bring up your spellbooks. In the spellbook you can read what your abileties do, so while you are gaining new abileties from leveling 1-10 you can hover over the icons in the spellbook to read what they do, the same applies to spells you learn through the talent system that opens up after level 10.

Some other handy shortcuts that I can remember off the top of my head are Shift-P which opens up your collectible tab (usefull later on once you've gotten further immersed in the game). O is socials tab (friendslist). J is guild tab (you'll probably get an invite to a social guild sometime soon). C for character screen where you can inspect your character stats and gear. and B or shift B will open up your bag(s) like you discovered.

Z makes your character lay down in a sleeping position, X makes your character sit down, thought I'd mention that since you probably haven't played around with keybinds yet.

Always fun to see new players try out wow! I myself have been playing since 2009, and am currently on a brake and waiting for the next expansion to come around.

  6. Human traits are actually pretty strong 😛 Critical, Mastery, haste and versa increase actually give them an edge on most of the classes. Also their racial ability lets u get off a stun or any effects combined with faster diplo rep gain; 🙂 But in the end people just choose what they play either by race pref or class like DH can only be 2 races nelf and belf
