  1. here's the no bs explanation to tanking: You don't have to do anything too special talent wise to tank (since dps=threat anyway). There is no "super safe" as a tank. You're the first to die if anyone else makes a mistake and your healer is first to die if you don't do your job well. Get engineering up to be able to use target dummies. A target dummy is a free, backup off-tank. It will let you make the impossible possible and the risky risk-free. All warriors are seen as potential tanks, you'll actually have quite a bad time finding groups that let you in as a non-tank warrior (the other warrior, the actual tank, won't want to roll against you on all loot when they're taking on a lot more risk).

Because there is no deaggroing in a dungeon anyone in your group can potentially get you killed by pulling extras. If at any point you do not feel comfortable or do not trust your teammates for any reason, you leave. What dantes did is 100% correct. That is what you should do every time, all the time. Especially for the later on dungeons, if you have not done them as a DPS or are not confident you remember all the relevant mechanics – look up guides. Preparation is what separates a dead tank from a surviving one.

If you don't know pathing for a dungeon, either ask someone in the group (its not big issue) or pull up a map on your second monitor.

Until you have tanked a dungeon multiple times and are very confident at it, do not charge in. Always pull with throwing weapons or guns. Charging in will pull a lot more mobs than sending a throwing knife. Have the classic bestiary addon and know how to use it – it will tell you exactly what a mob can do. Can it net? Does it have a cleave? Does it have execute? Does it have a slow? Can it nova? Can it stun? It tells you – everything. As you get higher in level, the 50+ dungeons you should let someone else tank first to learn. All of them are dangerous and many risks have no consistently guaranteed way of mitigation. Have some swiftness potions, lips (limited invuln potions) and two petris as soon as you can physically afford to have them and are able to use them in your inventory. The way you use petris in a dungeon is you use one petri, leave group, wait for the timer to appear (teleporting out of instance in … x … seconds) and then you cancel the 1st petri and use the second one. This is an almost foolproof way of escaping any dungeon.

Once you have spent your major get me out of jail free cards: shield wall, a petri, whatever, that's it. Dungeon is over. There is no continuing even if your group saves the pull or whatever. Done deal, was fun good bye.

  2. I can’t believe I’m the only one saying this but I absolutely cant stand the Dr Bones voice and have had to click off both of the videos a few minutes in due to how obnoxious it is. If it was occasionally it’d be fine but it’s CONSTANT.

  3. I was a Main Tank for years, stopped playing WOW after wrath where I was actually main heals. I love seeing someone slowly embracing the role of tank… Great job bro. haven't finished the video yet I hope you don't die LOL

  4. my biggest problem with this game is how many newby traps it has, the human campaign literally has an area where it shows 3 lvl 9 quests but the second you get close fucking 4 level 10 enemies swarm and almost guarantee kill you…. like what's the point of that in a hardcore setting? I just wasted a few hours getting to that point only to have it all erased because how am I supposed to know I just die therE?

  5. good luck getting to 60 and the tanking, classic is mostly a knowledge check game so I'd recommend checking the wowhead dungeon guides if you don't already for seeing the moves the bosses have. Threat is also the game of tank in classic wow, shields early on don't do much and honestly if your healer is good you should never need a shield until the high 50 dungeons and in some quick swapping scenarios to interrupt or shield wall so opting for two handed for damage is preferable even as the tank and eventually dual wield tanking as fury since again its all about making the most threat.

  6. If your a warrior you should tank, they’re the best and looks shady if a warrior is spamming in lfg for a tank, don’t spec into prot being a hood tank means mobs hit you, mobs only hit you if they fear you more than the other people. Spec arms sit in D stance and act like you a dpser. If your healer gets aggro then taunt it back but if a rogue has aggro on one mob ehh let him work it out and you focus on the other guys
