I hardly know her
Here's hoping they see enough backlash in their P2W test run that they never try again.
Hearthstone players vs any sneak preview in any card game ever done.
This shorts fells so strange
oh my GOD who cares?
Hearthstone is always p2w if you’re trying to play on a budget and trying to have fun with more than like 1 deck
The first time I didn't preorder
Congratulations blizzard for such a genius business decision to deter people from buying
Scary, today it may be a pre-access terrible card, but tomorrow may be a legendary meta-breaking card, hopefully it does not happen.
I got this card multiple times in my kobolds and catacombs runs last week. It's ass
Haven’t played the game for 5 years, they just power creep my old cards into oblivion
I don't mind Early Access, though I would of preferred everyone get a Corridor Sleeper and pre-orders get an Golden or Signature version instead. Still I don't see it as a bad thing.
I only got it cus i always get the pre bundle but hopefully this won't start a pattern
I'm sure all the bots will be very upset.
HS is p2w i have to wait and save months before i can build a deck and by then it'll get toppled by other decks on ladder
Bad business practices are rampant in Hearthstone, and in Blizzard games in general, nothing out of the ordinary
Note that free to play people have the least say in the matter and their fate is in the hands of paying players deciding to take a hit for their community and it might not even work.
Yes it is
At least it'll be available. WotC wound up releasing probably the most oppressive card in the last decade behind pre-orders and made it Srandard legal
I stopped buying 2 years ago when they doubled the price for Latin America
I mean, its always been p2w to be fair, yes you can get legend without spending money, but you are going to see more people in legend who spent money than not, and why is thattt, because they have access to more cards and get them faster aswell. There are plenty of cards that are exact replicas of other cards but better and a f2p player on average will take much longer to get those better cards than paying players. Fun game and I enjoy it, gotten to legend alot, but its always been p2w, its just more p2w now lmao.
Edit: Playing devils advocate, it is a card game so its the best way to make money to continue to support the game, but at the same time, cosmetics exist and sell well when priced properly, so does alternative card art. So still not an excuse
Hearthstone has never been a Pay to Win, it's a Pay to Fast, and this gift is simply a way to get a card sooner than others so it's still a Pay to Fast. I dont see the difference with the other pre ordered expansion, if you pay for it you will get a lot more cards and statstically a lot more usefull cards sooner.
The only true form of pay to win in HS is for Battleground, you have to pay to unlock the twonlast slot of heroes you can play, as all heroes are highly unequal, not having these two slots makes you lose statistically more often.
I remember buy a box exclusives in magic…and yeah nexus of fate was a card, thanks wotc
I have always believed that hearthstone is P2W. Yes you can technically get everything for free over time, but that doesnt change the fact you can still pay for more packs, thus more good cards. Also this pre-order kind of p2w is bad for the game imo.
I’m not gonna lie, the new Ziliax almost brought me back but the corridor sleeper kept me out, thankfully.
I think it's not p2w since the card is garbage but i hope they won't do that again.
Terrible idea slippery slope
You know I played from beta until darkmoon fair and when you said it l was like “have they not done that before”.
that is really stupid because the card either has to be bad enough that no one cares that they can’t get it or you just destroyed your balance so what is the point. It’s a lose lose.
I don’t mind greedy I hate dumbass decisions that don’t even make good sense from a greed perspective. You could have even handed out gold versions and made the original craftable only like gelbin from beta and avoided 90% of the internet irritation. It’s dumb.
yes
They literally used to do this with the solo adventures. You had to buy it to get the cards, couldn't even craft them.
It’s been ptw. I was a ftp player for like 3 years before I got a job myself and could spend money, and the difference was huge. I started back in naxx so I grinded as much as I could to get a meta deck then played that so I could win easier. But now I pay for packs and stuff my wr has drastically changed for the better
I like this idea, I can have a card early and beat people that don’t have this good card. I’ll definitely buy any good early release cards.
Let’s celebrate our anniversary by giving us some money. Yep
Let's be honest. Corridor Sleeper sucks.
As long as they make these meme/bad cards exclusive I honestly don't mind them releasing them
MTG tried to that few years ago. Nexus of fate was oppressive, unfun and lead to overall loss of players
This could be totally fine as long as it isn’t playable in ranked until the set comes out officially. I love the idea of supporting devs and getting early access, but that access shouldn’t be able to affect ranked games and should only be for normal quick play type matches.
It has always been P2W (although, they at least give you a chance to earn solid rewards for playing the game and traveling down the reward path).
them eyelids tho, get some sleep dude…
Is it really ptw if you can still get the card?
It always starts with a harmless card but then it becomes a must have then it becomes a must have and the only way to get it
wdym “now” pat to win
Wouldn't mind him sounding more upset about this. But it is what it is.
Sssssooooooooooo hearthstone is NOT now pay to win. Stop crying until they actually print something broken.
Hearthstone has been P2W since they started putting 2 class legendaries per set instead of just one – change my mind.
Their strategy for years has been to extract as much money as possible in each short period of time, not particularly caring about the game's longevity or its playerbase. They'll just as easily continue to "test the waters" and see what they can get away with while avoiding losing too many (paying) players. Next xpac – early access meta-defining legendaries.
