Good on you for continuing. Once you start getting your cc spells and conjure decent water things get more fun. Definitely get a wand asap. Edit: i think you got one? Just starting watching.
I agree, you may not be suited for mage. Mage can't stand and take hits to the face like you can with priest of paladin. With mage, use the slow from your frost armor and frostbolt to your advantage. When they get close to you, you gotta strafe (never back pedal) a bit, and then keep casting. Ideally in later levels, you'll never even get touched.
Whichever you decide, keep em coming. I'm really enjoying the way you're playing and really enjoy hearing you read out the quests.
If you're interested in the custom content of T-Wow then you should check out some of the custom sets for RP events, for example there will be a one day only Faire taking place in Westfall on the 27th of July. The whole set is built just for the event! It makes some for really unique events.
Just started a High Elf myself and was surprised by the difficulty of the starting area too. Checked the turtle forum and yeah its already known. Aggro range, damage, respawn rate, its all a bit overtuned. But its more or less just the starting zone, it gets more vanilla like after that.
There is an area to the east coming out of Brinthilien called the Thaumarium, it only has about 3 quest I believe but they seem to be aimed at around level 5, the game admittedly doesn't direct you that way which is where my initial struggle came early on.
The server difficulty is not harder but i would implore you to try some new class besides paladin to broaden your scope. If you want the survivability you could try priest or shaman.
Started playing Turtle wow cuz of u. Thanks for a new addiction. And i saw you in a High elf starting zone shortly before u logged off. Btw been silently watching you for quite a while and u made me fall in love with wow yet again💖
Play what you like Robert! I like playing mage because i do find it quicker to lvl once you get you aoe spells however because there is additional quests in zones you dont feel as lost on where to go to quest and there are some great low level gear rewards to make sure you survive more 😁
I downloaded this and tried to play it. Didn't matter what settings i used, it was a stuttering, low fps mess. Mind you, i run retail at full everything abs never do below 120fps.
Confused, frustrated…. I'll check it out when that 2.0 shows up
Anything you feel like bad at is actually a great possibility for literally getting smarter due to new neural network forming and that alone is the best way to get better at any new things.
Personally, I think you can manage it. Just be consistent. 🥳
Learning is inseparable from pain, so just keep in mind your lessons and use that new knowledge to your advantage. I'd say dopamine flush after overcoming something hard delivering way better than those miniscule portions of easy stuff. 😅
I’ve played on this server for a long time lvld 1-60 HC and went immortal been watching ur videos for years gave me enjoyment when I couldn’t play wow at the time if you ever wanna meet up in game and I can lyk some cool new things about turtle I would be happy too and just fyi the new high elf zone is literally the hardest zone to start in lol sooo many people die multiple times I’m glad the hype brought you in :))
27:59 the only consistency in WoW lore is retconning, hence why Turtle WoW mostly base its lore on events from Warcraft 1, 2 and 3. Rarely do they take any pieces from TBC (logical vanilla timeline events description) or further on.
i like role play and find games more immersive when you can role play. however turtle is a mix of roleplay. you shouldn't be expecting a greater intensity than 7/10. people will roleplay, but kinda the experiance you are getting with people silently running around is very common. in a more immersive scenario you might expect someone trying to heal after a hard fight to inspire others to take a rest and chat nearby, and while the devs did try designing that to occur, the playerbase isn't the most sociable. so if it bothers you that you went down to 5 hp and some guy just ran past, expect a lot more of that. the community, presuming it hasn't changed, has a lot of silly people, but the game wasn't indulgent enough of role play for it to become common.
they might add it. the survival profession had like 3 items when i played, and it might have more added to it since then. but the players trying to minmax hasn't been changed. if the gameplay doesn't directly support a behavior it isn't going to occur. if food items could have you basicly cast a heal on a target that only works if they are seated, some of the weird gamey stuff might drop. but if you are expecting it to be vanilla levels of roleplay, with few imersion breaking people running around- you likely will be disappointed.
the best role play would be to do stuff which is maximally supported, sorta taking on a npc role to other players. begging for alms, casting magic in the city and claiming you are just running experiments and need help finding ingredients, is the type of stuff the community rallies around. super in depth back stories, and those character sheets, and trying to have player characters which exist in the world and are recognized by other players as having relationships with other players and npcs- that is a bit too far though.
put another way, if seeing the name "lego-lad" bothers you, the community might not be the best fit. there are more silly people than serious roleplayers.
Blizzard knows about TurtleWoW but they're allowing it since it's no threat to their income. That's what I've heard from Turtle themselves.
Best Server !!!!
Another great video! Makes me think about playing wow again!

You can restore mana with the racial ability.

Don't know if you've figured it out already but you can buy back things that you've sold to vendors and it even persists after logging out.

I wouldn't mind seeing you play a paladin
ok after watching this maybe Paladin might be your best bet. but im still really enjoying the playthough
Really loving the new series 👌🏻
Great content. pfQuest is really helpful, and they have an HD pack that isn't the UE5 graphics, but lets you play with Legion upgraded graphics.
Glad to see you sticking with the mage.

I think you missed a quest from the Thaumarium.
Loving the TWoW content Robert! I can't wait to play!
