Only Arthas acted entirely of his own FREE WILL when he killed the last part of his humanity – unless that entire novel is retconned (which I wouldn't put beyond Blizzard) Arthas can't blame shit on the Jailer. It was him and him ALONE that made the decision to become the Lich King. Also there is nothing Sylvanas says in the pre-patch or in any cinematic that I'm aware of which even so much hints at the Jailer's influence. Arthas made his decisions 100% of his own volition and that is how it should stay.
The last character in the history of WoW who should ever get some shitty ret-conning 'redemption' arc is Arthas. The man was a hopeless, irredeemable PoS and he was intentionally written to be that way from start to finish – that's why he was the end villain of an entire expansion. To retcon or minimise that by blaming it all on The Jailer is to take the biggest shit ever in the thousands upon thousands of everyone he destroyed because of his own arrogance and endless lust for power. Period.

Thes runes on the Jailor Body, i have a feeeling like they are made like a cocoon ? With small lines inside. This make me thinks about the Winter Queen. I think the Queen is the one who baited him to be trap. And she is sad due to that decision.
I believe The Jailer (Zovaal) did look similar to Aman'thul before, but all this time being jailed in the maw has changed him.

Ive also been wondering, if the maw was inescapable before the jailer was imprisoned there, then wouldnt whoever chained him down also have been stuck in the maw too?

The souls Denathrius throws down into the maw should have some anima left. Without anima the soul would probably perish. So I think that he look at the soul and every soul that has not enough anima left he just throws down as they are not worth to harvest. Just to put it numbers let's say to harvest a soul's anima you need to invest 20 anima, then of course every soul with 20 anima or less is not worth to be harvest. But these up to 20 anima of each soul will then slowly empower the Jailer who probably can harvest it without costs.

The viewof the Maw from his window kind of reminded me of the Well of Eternity being Azshara's view as well in her chambers. Could the Maw be the opposite equivalent of the well in the shadowlands?

If you notice the stars in the sky around 7:19 they have a path of cloud leading to them. Considering the new map layout of Shadowlands, i'd wager those "stars" are actually the other zones such as Maldraxus etc. The exact same tail of cloud leading to the zones are found on the new map. So maybe all "stars" in Shadowlands are actually the other worlds within the shadowlands?
So just a thought about the Retcons over the years, but what if those weren't retcons and just a telling of the story through a different perspective, like how Cronicles is from the eyes of the titans, and this story in shadowlands finally shows us the true purpose behind Frostmourne and the Lich King. And life beyond death and so fourth. Don't know if this makes sense, but it's a nice way to keep those old stories we heard and read as kids and young adults to immerse ourselves in them.
The curious thing is that in WoD, when Deathtalon spawn in Taanan Jungle, you can see/hear a text from Shadow Lord Iskar: "Behind the veil, all you find is death!". Curious, don't you think?

I thought the HD cinematic was extremely pretty, but also extremely boring. It feels like I've seen this one twice or three times before, but with prettier colors.
