Nobbel explains the entire lore of Shadowlands for a viewer who has requested it. Explaining how every-single-act on the story of World of Warcraft can be traced in some way or another to the same being called Zorvaal who we need to take down in the end of this expansion and also explaining the characters that part take on the center of this story.

  1. Wait a minute… Burn Teldrassil in order to kill so many people it overwhelms the Maw with souls and open the way to invade the afterlife? That was the same plan of the Fal'cie in Final Fantasy 13, in order to wake up Bhunivelze; Kill everyone on Cocoon in order to shatter the gates of heaven and wake up god.

  2. FF14: "Endwalker is the conclusion to 10 years of story." > actually concludes the story, with no major plot points left untied.
WoW: "9.2 Eternity's End is the conclusion to 20 years of story." > doesn't conclude anything & opens up even more plot holes.

  3. 20 years and they just f*** up the whole game. What a lazy ass narrative, lets be honest. So sad how it 'end'. It's that thing, blizz need more money, they need build more BS stories. Such a lame ending indeed… :/

  4. It's almost like the people making WoW now don't know what they're doing. I think Final Boss will be Bobby Kotick who then tells us he was controlled by Asmongold all along.

  5. IMO, at this point I think we were asking for it.

It's not like Wow had ever an amazing storytelling. It was good at best, with sometimes some bits being really good, like some regions questchains (Stormpeaks for exemple) or narratives focused on characters (Jaina's quests in early BFA were amazing). But in general the story and storytelling was mediocre. So many retcons, so many "Shut up! It's magic", so many plot armors. This is some 8th season of GOT's level of writing, which is according to certain people in loreteam really good….

So yeah, at this point still having hope in Wow's lore is on me…

I stopped in the middle of 9.1, but I was still curious about the conclusion of this expansion. WHAT A CONCLUSION OH BOY ! BIGGER MEANER BADDIE COMING.

Again, this is my opinion, and sorry for grammatical errors, english is not my native language.

  6. The story of the Shadowlands is "Drink more Ovaltine". Honestly, I'm amazed how many people have been blindsided by this, as if it hasn't been headed this way for years. It's like Blizzard has a bunch of 12 year olds writing the story.

  7. Sylvanas: "Arthas made me who I am. I hate him." – Jailer: "I made Arthas. Wanna join me?" – Sylvanas: "Sure!"
"LOLWUT?????" THAT is Battle for Azeroth and Shadowlands in a nutshell, I completely agree. Such a shame.
