Mcdoubles back again with a brand new video and today we check out WORLD OF RUNESCAPE – that’s right, Runescape (Oldschool) using World of Warcraft characters, assets, and attempting to stay as true to the original game as possible, yet somehow STILL with a TWIST!

This is early alpha stage and I was given an opportunity to show the progress of the game. The creators name is Keynets and he’s doing us a great service by bringing this to life. I’m super excited to see it progress and I’m curious to see what you guys think in the comments below.

  4. I feel what could benefit the world feeling so small is a FOW system particular outside tutorial island, as things are not ontop, maybe could be achieved with skyboxes and zones alignment

  6. So this is cool. But do we ever stop and ask "why?". If it's just going to be OSRS with WoW graphics its just going to be a fleeting thing. At this time, those that want to play OSRS do so, and those that want to play runescape with upgraded graphics they play RS2. I know people have their own ideas, but this is just copying OSRS with no changes so theres little to no reason to continue playing once the "oh shiney new thing" wears off.

    I enjoy what modders can do, but sometimes we really have to ask ourselves "why" this is like the people wanting to make FO4 or Skyrim in Starfield…. why? there's no reason for it.

  8. You shouldn't copy RS mechanics 1:1 into the server. Walking around the world would feel awful in wow. It works in RS since you can click far away and then click again. You don't have to hold the movement key and your character pathfinds by itself.
    Prayer-flicking is probably a horrible idea. You should balance the prayer drain instead.
    Keep the autoattack-based combat and skilling.
    Mining and Smithing is pretty awful in OSRS, since you need level 90 to craft level 40 gear that you can just get from mobs. You should re-balance that. It would still feel like RS.

  11. Are you gonna talk about Turtle WoW remaking WoW in Unreal? I understand if you can't because of your job with Ascension but it'd be nice to just hear it from you instead of radio silence. Everyone would understand if you just said "Yeah I can't make a video on it because of my obligations to Ascension"

  13. It looks good. Im really curious on wich period of RS this will be focussed on. It looks like 2005-2006. And what skills are gonna be availeble?

    I think the wilderness should look alot darker with much less visability.
    Also the world feels very small to me compared to Osrs. But im not sure if thats because you can look so far in the distance.
    And PLEASE make the furnaces look big like they do in osrs.

    All in all i think the person who created this did a really good job so far 👌 👍

  20. Another person who proved to me that it is possible to do everything you can imagine in the game and I have my fingers crossed that everything goes without any major problems. I'm just sad because I'm such an idiot and I can't program to try something like that.

  24. If only I had this back in like ‘04-‘05’, this is pretty funny/ironic since RuneScape was my first MMO because my family didn’t have internet or a PC. I rode my bike across town every weekend to the library to play there. Pretty convenient since it was a web browser based game and didn’t need to install a client (the library PC had installs blocked). I’ll definitely be checking this out when it’s more complete.

  25. Ascension is going to become the premier place to play on private servers of all types at this rate. First you have classless, then you have CoA and now Runescape-wow. Now if PA would use a more modern version of the wow engine….. (One can wish. ;-;)
