Most ppl spoil everything in wow months before game comes out.
Regarding token. You play a lot make a lot of ingame money but are poor IRL = free subscription by selling gold with it. You work a lot and have out of game money but little time to play = wow gold. WoW PvP is very high skill cieling (low floor), sharp curve. Best gear you could have is not going to get you to high rank without corresponding skill. Best PvP/PvE gear drops from doing that content and doing it well, not from Auction House. Also don't worry about gear look spoilers, most of what shows up in there is sets that come to end game and you'll get bored and move on to another game well before you get any.
wow hasn't had visual progress for years. collecting transmogs is a good addition to the content of the game, but it has removed the visual Progress of the Gear

Looking cool is the true endgame. A new expansion will make all of your best gear into trash, but a nice transmog is always nice.
