Mostly uncut footage of a stream where I take on Torghast.
Over the weekend Blizzard asked testers to check out the dungeon. This is a very candid run of its hardest difficulty on a Protection Paladin paired with the Venthyr covenant.

  2. One of the finer points I've noticed about Torghast is that it is making more obvious some of the issues with different classes/specs. I did my initial testing on Enhancement and Windwalker and really stuggled to even clear layers 5 or 6. I then switched to Ret and it was a piece of cake. I attribute the issue to a lack of defensives (and good anima powers for WW). Also, there was a boss that I died to over 15 times because shaman simply didn't have the mobility nessecary to survive the boss mechanics.
From what I have view over the last day or so, it seems that heals and tanks are doing exceptionally well because of their defensive strengths and also that stealth classes clear Torghast in 40% of the time it takes for everyone else. My point is not that Torghast is broken, rather that this new playground is excellent for testing. Unfortunately, since these differences are SOO noticable in this context, I believe it is going to make players very upset about class balance when SL goes live (beyond how upset everyone already is). Its going to be a major difference how much a rogue can get done week 1 versus a shaman if the Shaman has to spend 1-2 days in torghast compared to the rogue's 1-2 hours.

  3. Well considering Blizzard's classic player base will start the final raid next month. Blizzard has to be considering what they are going to do next the for the classic player base.

  4. Soul, you should try and make a video and put all the so called "quirks" and interesting tips into it for Shadowlands. If i hadn't watched the video completely, it wouldn't have occurred to me that particular transmog is particular to a character and not account wide. Thing like that are quite helpful for everyone to be aware of if can.

  5. I started a prot pally when the new starting zone dropped just to mess around and Its fun. Sturdy with ok damage, newly to 50 with a 115 ilvl weapon from Nathanos. If the damage especially from avengers shield ramps up its going to be outstanding. I played Blood DK and Havoc DH mostly through BFA and while the DK felt unkillable in PVE the damage was sleepy.

Soul how would you say the damage from Prot Pally scales with advancement through SL?
