I came early – THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID 🎉
My #1 is the Deadmines revamp. The vanessa fight is easily one of my favorites in the game. Love a good boss gauntlet.
I think Cataclysm was 2 steps forward and 5 steps backwards for Blizzard something they never recovered from.
On the one hand they learned from WotLk that story driven questing is a lot of fun and that you can make a questing zone more involved as just run from A to B and kill C. They also learned that mechanic driven fights in dungeons are fun and make their dungeons stand out.
Yet the game became more and more toxic in WotLk thanks to item level making it easy for the worst of people to deny any player from playing without any good reason if we are honest. Dungeons finder why offering a more easy tool to find dungeons made the social engagement much worse.
In the past if you acted like a a**hole you were punished by the community. Yes it might took more time to build groups. But the groups that were formed did value each other more. Hence if you not were the best tank yet people may took their time to teach you, as having someone trying tank was valued.
Blizzard double down on this. They offered even more features towards this path and create the toxic world we now even have in classic.
Also while they enhanced the questing… They also made leveling much too fast. They created a game that only exist for its endgame.
Yes this also started with Wotlk but it became much worse starting here…
Wow and burning crusade worked because the journey towards endlevel was long and hard. But this made it so much fun to do it despite it flaws! Because your journey mattered. The endgoal of running a raid was a distant goal. It was not all your game builded towards. It was something you dreamed of while you slowly explored the world meeting friends on the way. And then the moment when you actually did manage to run high end contend felt so much more rewarding.
I remember how long it took before I was able to run Karazan in Burning Crusade. Then Wotlk arrived and I was able to clear Naxramas after the first 10 days. And no i not rushed the contend… The leveling just was so quick and the journey towards end content so quick that I actually runned out of contend. A player like me that took his time exploring the new zones and read all of the lore.
This problem exploded and this is why FF14 is so popular now. Because FF14 remembered that the journey is part of the fun. It remembered that people used to care about the dungeons they did mid game and all the areas they explored. They made sure to make each dungeon still runable even if the content moves fast away from it.
I noticed Throne of Tides got some updates for M+, I know those Snapdragons weren't in there when it was current content.
MAKE THE THRALL VIDEO, YES, PLEASE
Halls is nice one beginning. If you start to farm valor it will be one of the worst instances. Luckly most bosses are skipable.
Same for the Vanessa Event. It takes to long. Even the fight Takes ages with deterence and intermissions.
Tol'vir is by far the best. Quick 5 minute runs. Next zu troll instances
I like the list, but Stonecore is easily the worst dungeon in cata. Obviously this is subjective and your opinion is valid…. The two things I remember about stonecore are 1. People dropping out after the dragon fight bc all they cared about was the mount. 2. BREAK YOURSELF UPON MY BODY and so many wipes on that boss.
Disagree with all your picks lol
SO MANY REMAKE DUNGEONS, NO wonder blizzard sucks starting from cata
I enjoy these videos, however, a few details if you will…
2:44 That's Raz Skullcrusher, who works as a bodyguard for Finkle Einhorn in Mount Hyjal. He's an Orc that became a Dire Orc, so he's not a Dire Troll or ''Hulk troll guy'' as you put it.
7:00 You're confusing Magni Bronzebeard for his younger brother Brann Bronzebeard. The former is the king of Ironforge that became a speaker for Azeroth after a ritual in Ironforge, the latter is a renowned member of the Explorer's League.
7:25 That's only because Night Elves had a major part to play in the War of the Ancients. A good chunk of the playable races actually already existed back then. Such as the Dracthyr, Earthen, Eredar/Draenei, Pandaren, Tauren, Trolls, as well as the stunted Vrykul offspring that would later be called humans.
Zug zug
Only 1 I disagree with is Blackrock Caverns, I think it's cool in there and there's some great bosses.
Ok zuggy i must be honest with you i play cataclysm classic with my paladin 85
With my 6 proto drakes (red, green, blue, time lost, plagued and black proto drakes) and so Zul'Aman
I hate this dungeon cuz ppl try make runfor the amani bear mount instead of skipping to get valor points (even if i already have the mount from the dungs released) Zul Gurub Is actually the best dungeon il like to skip to mandokir and kilnara for mounts (even if they need gear from required bosses)
Ummmm brann never turned into a rock. He’s our delve companion. Your think of Magni.
So a purely aesthetical list then
30 +min if your group is braindead to do deadmines makes it bottom tier instant
