  1. honestly, they take ancient teachings, cut it so its 200% healing BUT they add "increases damage by 50%" during the effect. job done. monk fixed without going mad. it will make ancient teachings the best lego ONLY if you want to dps and play fist weaving.

    Do you think if they reworked yulon, to not be so mana draining but still powerful, it could bring mist-weaving closer to the effectiveness of fist-weaving?

  3. Do you think if mistweaver's niche would be really high dps, could it be considered as a viable choice for high end mythic progress? So if we don't get DR but we could do insane healer dps. Because with lower gear every bit of dps can help the kill and raids might sacrifice a dr to get more dps.

  4. I've been maining a MW since 8.3. Converted to fistweaving this patch and it's been amazing. Doing +17s, +18s atm with Chi-Ji/Necrolord. I like how I can have Bone Dust Brew every minute, and I can use it for targeted healing. I can't wait to start raiding in 9.1. it's gonna be fun!

  5. A lot of the comments still complain about DR strength, poor external, and cost-inefficient/ineffective cd's. That's part of the game. Monk would have to be far and away the #1 HPS healer (We're talking probably 30-40-50% more) to be brought, which we saw vaguely in Ny'alotha when monk's meme playstyle (600k hps) broke out. Blizzard INSTANTLY nerfed it into the ground. I think Monk overall needs a rework, let Shadow Priest go a patch without one. Either turn Mistweaver into a stagger healer (i.e. have "Stagger" play a role in Mistweaver) or give them a DR, or even give them overwhelming dps. I'm not saying you have to make a spec OP to shake up the meta, but you have to take leaps to overcome DR-based CD's otherwise DR's will remain strong, even if DR's only mitigate 2k damage, that's 40k damage that didn't need to be healed. That's 40k worth of healing that mana is saved on. While I personally think that removing damage is great, I think the community should focus on something completely "off-meta" by focusing on efficiency. We need more endurance fights, we need to make Mistweaver an EFFICIENCT healer, not a DR healer or a "healer with a bunch of throughput CD's." But I digress, it's obvious something needs to be done, but it just seems like no one's suggestions have been taken serious or into consideration.

As long as touch of death exists I'm not sure they'll give MW more DPS, from wow developer's mindset it is not a "free skill" but damage taken from us and pushed into a low hp window on top of locking it behind a long CD. Probably the best that could happen is if they build a "cannot be used on boss-type enemies" aura into it, so they can give us real dps back, and there's the problem of balancing Aotm as you say which would imply nerfing the legendary, something that from what I can tell they're trying to avoid.

  7. they could just put damage scaling on a different coefficient than the healing received from teachings, so buff dmg by 30%, but reduce healing received from teachings by 30%, so that healing doesn't get impacted.

  8. This covers raiding, but what about those monks that want M+? clearly the reliance on Gusts associated with a 3min cooldown and less targets to heal will not translate well to M+ or am I missing something?

  9. I play fistweaving as main in my guild I have the most stable hps output in CN at this moment the point is we are not a high end raiding guild and we are not in race with something. I still wonder with no raid utility people are still going to give spot to mw monks for first 100 guild race?

    Considering raid cds dmg reduction cds>healing in mythic progression if you dont take too much dmg it is alot safer instead of healing big dmg

    Regarding revival buff as a fistweaving monk I ignore mastery 224 ilvl I got around %60 mastery.
    My prio is %15 haste after this crit/versa
    Basicly this revival buff means nothing to me and I dont thing it is going to impact my gameplay at all just a small improvement.

    Basicly we have 2 different build under mistweaver
    One of the fistweaving
    Other one is caster
    Basicly both of them get buffed in this scenario
    Fistweaving have dmg buff
    Casters have revival gust of mist buff since they build more mastery in caster build.

    I hope blizzard give a chance to players to play both spec in same time depending on encounter but now my gear is totally shit for a revival and I feel like I have to make a decision to change gear soon for the 9.1 which is not good

  10. As a Necrolord MW, i can see: get 3 stacks of blackout kick -> essence font -> revival -> bonedust brew -> RSK -> blackout kick being a sequence i have to get into muscle memory.
