  1. Maybe they increased the exp needed so more people would play side quest, just for the sake of testing. This is a beta after all. The slight reduction in September came in because they overshoot by a small margin and now where all the quests have been tested enough they return to what always was the plan 🙂 Not everthing being implemented to Beta is itended to hit live servers.

  2. Perhaps the change is to allow people to feel good about not doing side quests on mains since they are trying to be alt friendly and those will in essence be the quests we alt on combined with world quests? IDK this isn't Blizz anymore, it's Activision.

  3. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of leveling. I want to hit max asap and start gearing, raiding, doing dungeons and such. The only reason I like leveling is for the story. Therefor, i believe that doing only the main story quests should get you to max and anything else is extra.

  4. Idk. I like not hitting max level quickly. I think they should do some simple math and have you hit max level after you quest in all relevant zones. Or you are max level for the last zone.

Hitting max level half way through the first zone makes it feel so….meh.

  5. 1: They buffed leveling, they made it faster. A nerf to leveling would have made it slower.

2: They fixed a huge problem so they are "wishy washy"? WTF?

3: You are making some big huge deal out of them making leveling easier when a majority of players look at expac leveling as a nuisance. I am in that boat. I'd rather they drop the expac and allow those of us that despise leveling to jump right to the new max.

4: Beta is for making changed and tweaking things. This is that. How is it wasted beta time? I don't get your reasoning?

Personally I think they should cut the required exp to level by another 50% at a minimum. Make reasons for us to want to go back and complete quests, like achievements and unlocking end game things. Being forced to level for the sake of leveling is pointless BS.

  6. Yes, good and bad for alts. Great because you know right what you’re doing, right where you’re going. Crickets, you’re bored again. Bad because, the side quests ARE a departure from the beaten path and guessing, aren’t an option at this point.

  7. Honestly, I, and I think a majority of players, like to quest and queue for dungeons while they are questing, so the slower experience actually sounds balanced to me. Do all the quests, get the whole storyline and queue for dungeons while doing so. I actually do NOT like hitting max level before getting through with the quest chain because then i feel like i'm wasting my time to continue doing it now that i'm max leveled or i'm just leaving that storyline thread just… hanging there.

  8. Maybe they required more xp for a time to force beta testers to do the side quests so bugs could be exposed? Maybe they never intended to keep the xp that high maybe they just wanted the full gameplay to be tested.
