Blizzard could just say that Azeroth was an evil pantheon since it has been corrupted by the old gods that were inhabited on it. This can help set the lore to do a full reset.
Every wow expac has been a "bitch you thought" exercise in recontextualization, and honestly I'm tired of it. I'm tired of being told that what I learned in previous expacs are meaningless.

I suspect that Lothraxion willingly told the Naaru about Denathrius's plot. I mean, the Naaru had to have found out about it somehow, and they knew it was Denathrius who was up to no good. And Lothraxion is still around, so…how would they tolerate Lothraxion's presence in the Army of the Light, unless Lothraxion was the one who let them know about Denathrius's plot?
Has anyone considered that our characters are the baby titan?
I believe Azeroth is a first one
The theory I had for years is that the big bait and switch twist they were going to pull was that Azeroth wasn't actually a Titan but either an old god or a void entitity and my main evidence for that is Azerite.
Saronite in the lore, is the blood of Yogg Saron that seeped up through the ground and crystalized. The only place you can find it is in Northrend and Yogg's actual body was said to have covered the entire continent. Azerite is the crystalized blood of the world soul. Same naming convention. Same exact reasoning for it and it was seeping out from the entire planet in all areas. Azeroth being an extremely powerful void creature would make sense seeing how hellbent Sargeras was on reaching and destroying it completely no matter the cost.
Does Khadgar know about Lothraxion, as we have seen him in Revendreth/Oribos as the 'Watchful Raven' npc?
I think Azeroth is the Clockmaker.
It's not even a story any more. . .they just do stuff as things go. It's all pointless and meaningless. The story doesnt incorporate your player character OR any of the interesting characters you encounter throughout your questing.
It's just Jaina and Thrall's variety hour. . . .

Somehow, I unfortunately doubt they will follow up with Lothraxion and they will just conveniently ignore that implicatoin. Sincerely hope to be proven wrong.
My expectation is that Azeroth is the Sepulcher, each of the cosmic forces (or entity within) wants the power for themselves and they're all trying to play 4D chess with each other to game theory who gets to it eventually. The void sent old gods to corrupt it, the titans stumbled upon it thanks to some interference from Death aligned forces and built a prison around it. Life clearly has some involvement since mortals exist on the surface and the Light has a presence with the various Naaru and the Army of the Light. And since Death comes for the soul of your world, I'm guessing Zovaal is the latest to show his cards and have a go.
Maybe Azeroth was the friends we made along the way…nah.
My 'conspiracy' theory is we're going to all be Night Warriors next expac. Think about it, that's their new system. Or what would have been, I hope, i just hope there's no systems like that again. But that's what my thoughts were, something void elune'y making us night warriors. We've seen a few examples of past night warriors, all coming from different backgrounds that show ANYONE could invoke the night warrior. We might have to do it, hell that could be the plot to defeating edgy thanatos.
I don't care about any of this cosmic stuff. I just want to grab my axe, explore a new land, help the native tribe and kill some baddies.
I don't think its a retcon, period, because we know Worldsouls can birth stuff, but we also allegedly know the void can corrupt them and turn them into something, so it would jsut be creating another route
Stop…. just stop…. changing how the universe of wow works every expansion is a retcon. If the new MCU movies decided to make a new villain and make him the one pulling the strings of Thanos then that would be a retcon. Just like everything else in shadow lands is to the Litch King. BEING TOLD ONE THING THEN TOLD SOMETHING ELSE LATER ABOUT THAT SAME THING IS BAD WRITING AND A RETCON! STOP DEFENDING THIS TERRIBLE GAME JUST BECAUSE ITS YOUR JOB.
