In this video I showcase the Ranged Holy Paladin build in a Heroic De Other Side. This build utilizes Holy Light/Flash of Light to fill in GCDs while leveraging the high throughput healing of Beacon of Virtue to quickly top up your group. Bestow Faith and Holy Prism are taken to offer some flexible tools both for generating Holy Power and healing while moving out of mechanics.
While Melee Paladin builds offer added passive damage and play on the Glimmer-style Shock reduction, Ranged Pally offers a far less frantic experience. My goal in this video is to show a practical example of this sort of approach in action, highlight its strengths and weaknesses so that you can be better equipped to understand the tools available to you as a Holy Pally.
Enjoy!

Full mastery holy lights will pump
What’s your opinion on rule of law I haven’t used it much in pve but in pvp it’s really nice being able to stay back and heal peopel from 60 yards I think it would be kinda fun with the light of dawn lego
This is great. Very excited to try this on my paladin tomorrow! Cheers!
I recently got back into WoW after 10 years. For some reason decided to make myself even more confused by playing a class and spec I've never played before. It seems like even long time players are a little confused about the state of Holy Paladin. You videos have been super helpful. I love that you're willing to experiment and try to figure out what works and why.
I hope to see more from you!
Holy prism heals target but damages enemies around them
Hitting enemy with holy prism heals your teammates around the enemy
What add-ons are you running?
I’d love to see more of these dungeon runs with commentary, especially going into mythic content! Keep it up!
So does this build put out stronger hps than melee? It looks to me like in this gameplay you are doing almost zero damage. The melee holy build pumps a ton of damage which helps the group a lot. Does the pure output of this build outweigh the damage loss?
Here's something people don't say or realize, Yes glimmer does more damage because you're using crusader strikes and you get reduced times in your holy shocks but you still can damage and be ranged healer. You still have your hammer, you still can go put concentration down, You still can judge. You don't have to sit at range all the time You can weave in and out, The range bill just allows you to heal at range and not have to constantly have all your procs on all the enemies and all your teammates cuz that's what turns me off to glimmer build the amount of management you have to do to make your healing output good. You can still be a ranged / melee healer and just not have to have holy shock on every single person. That's what turns me off about glimmer paladins
Not sure if I answer comments, but this is a very basic newb question. What types of add-ons do healers use to like make healing a little easier? I consider myself decent with keybindings, but I have a habit of clicking on the little player names and not sure if that's optimal
What's your cooldown tracker add-on showing your parties CD's as well as your own? Also, how did you get the the mana and holy power to show up as numbers? Was that through TMW?
Nice video! Thank you! Just wondering what talents you are using. For example divine purpose or holy avanger? Can this be seen in any other of your videos?
Thanks for the great into and commentary! Love it!
As for the dps loss, youcan always go into melee range and crusader strike to add dps, then jump out to range healer when mechanics become to risky to heal in melee. I just run duel beacons and rarely droo below 90% mana pool. The loss of the holy shocks doesnt really effect dps as most the time you would be healing with them anyway.
So wuts your build/talent plz I need to know
Longtime player here, I would love for this video to have started out with a snapshot of your talent tree.
Also, what are your pvp talent choices?
Been struggling with the melee build in certain fights so this is awesome thank you!
The healing from this is handicapped. Try this in a raid and you will OOM. Try it in a mythic +14 or so and you will not be able to keep party alive during and group wide damage. Holy light and flash of light are designed specifically to be filler spells. This is a very sub optimal way to play. In higher keys you would be better off taking any other healer who is actually willing to contribute damage, which they are all designed to do now.
I want the talent "Denounce" back to replace "Crusader Strike".
