I'm really enjoying the variety of the WQ in SL, but less so when I'm trying to do them on so many alts. Can't wait until flying is released!
I like this expac’s world quests! I think I have time to enjoy them if I put my mind to it.
I mean from a "just doing my chores" perspective I agree with you but… at least for me, when they became a chore in BfA o stopped doing them
And all of the ones that had these super convenient elements to them made every single other world quest, including the fun ones, less fun because they felt like a chore despite not being remotely bad
They just felt bad because of the, literally sometimes less than 1 second World quests, making virtually everything feel like a chore which is not a good thing – whnever someone talks about how they disliked the BfA world quests its always the same comllaint:
The speed, and it stems from the ones that were almost I'd not actually instantaneous to complete
During BfA I did something that confused a lot of people namely when a group was needed for a world quest either because it was in a new patch or I was on an alt, I talked with the folks I grouped up with and a lot of people was extremely surprised by it because no one was talking and engaging with other players doing world quests in BfA – not at the start and that kept up until the end of BfA, similar thing in Legion actually
Now talking with others is not uncommon, it is still a lot of folks who just treat it as a bunch of chores to do and thus don't engage with other folks but people talk A LOT more now during world quests than ever before
So… I think SL's world quests whilst not perfect for sure has certainly been a resounding success for what they attempted to do with them
Not sure how well this will hold up or if this is desired by the non-forum-trolls community but as a start, I'd call SL's world quests the best ones so far out of these three expansions we have had them now
I'm not a fan of world quests that require you to jump on flowers that 20% of the time fail and make you start all over 🙂
That thing about the subsequent requirements is so annoying, theres a quest in bastion somewhere, i think its the temple of purity, which does that and the second half of it that you don't see takes quite some time, terrible decision imo
