Think you might be the “target” Blizzard is “aiming” for with the only true ranged dps in World of Warcraft? Wondering if there’s a video out there with a “focus” on this class? Want me to stop with these horrendous puns?

Then watch the video dude, you’ll like it 😉

  1. I love hunters they're so versatile ! Back in the days I played my hunter to use crazy mechanics and show-off some skill, now i play it when I wanna get sleepy before going to bed. Versatility.

  2. I can 100% confirm all of this video. I was 14 when wow came out and rolled a hunter due to Legolas. I remember needing on 'stat sticks' and accidentally pulling entire rooms with barrage/volley.

  3. "Well, I used to be Meelee but I wanna play ranged now. Oh, and also casting spells is for morons."
Does this sound good to you? Yes? Then the Hunter is the perfect pick for you my friend.

  4. To be fair as a warrior in classic I had a hunter wishing to pay me 25g for BIS armor in BRD to start MC.I said hell no and rolled on it because that mail armor gave me +2crit and was BIS for me also.Everyone was a loot whore back then. 🙂

  5. Wth is weeb about monk? It's based on a nation that hates Japanese with pation. Hell, rogue is most weeb class ever. With azerite trait called "nothing personal" while teleporting behind you.

  6. I hate barrage for that reason, and i'm a bm, mm come in an instance and pull stuff that wasn't pulled by the tank with that damned barrage. Whenever i tried mm, i used to just remove that damned talent off my bar so i wouldn't accidentally use it in a dungeon.

  7. Gather around kids, it's time for a long post by an old man. Hunters? Let me tell you some things about Hunters.

Aspect of the Pack was a group-wide buff, similar to a Paladin aura. It gave some persistent movement increase. But! If you got hit, you were automatically dazed. Meaning, you move very slow. So, let's say an instance goes bad (and it will, you grouped with a hunter) and the solution is to run to the exit. What does the hunter do? Aspect of the Pack. But everybody was getting hit all the time so it made everybody slower, not faster, causing a wipe instead of a retreat.

Did you find a shortcut in an instance back in the old school days? Maybe jump down some ledge and creep over a narrow, unintended path? Good for you! So here's the thing: the Hunter's pet won't follow that way, they will the entire instance to reach your spot. And they drew aggro. So, you see kitty happily running at its master… with literally a hundred angry dudes behind it. If you're lucky, maybe the Lock can quickly soulstone the priest or something, while everybody else quickly takes off as much as gear as they can to reduce repair bills. Ah the good old vanilla days…

And the stupidest people were always, ALWAYS playing Hunters. I remember in Zul'Farak there's a cave and if you approach it, the boss from inside runs out and the encounter begins. So one time we reached that point and everybody was low on health/mana (that was a thing) so we had to sit down to eat and drink. We explained. Do NOT approach the cave. If you get near it, the boss comes. What does the Hunter do? Immediately run at the entrance to put down some traps there, and wipe the group. Why? Because he thought "don't approach the cave" meant "don't go inside." Yes, English was his first language, he was just that bad.

Dungeons were pretty dangerous and you had to use crowd control abilities on most groups to prevent a wipe. That meant sapping one mob, sheeping another, agreeing on a kill-sequence. The Hunter? Just sprays some AoE at them and breaks all the CC. Why? Because it's the best DPS. CC? They've never needed CC during solo leveling, why start now? Oh did we wipe? Must be the healer's fault. This happened… often.

Need ammo? Half the time, they forgot to buy ammo before starting the dungeon. I literally carried ammo on most of the characters just so I could hand some to Hunters in a pinch. And they would complain too, because it wasn't the highest level available to them. (Read: the most expensive.)

To this day, I have an alt of every single class, most of them max level or nearly so… except Hunter. I just can't do it.
