  1. Agamand Mills crypt is also among those places nudging one towards cooperation. Also a nice challenge for someone more experienced to try and solo the place.

I've not played WoW for years now, even the classic versions. The implementation and Blizzard in general bummed me out in the end during the initial classic. I did try TBC classic for a bit, and I love TBC, but the mentality of the players, be it private server people min-maxing everything and burning through content and crying for more, and flaky regular WoW players not having the attention span to commit just was too much.

With a group of friends or like-minded people it could still be great. But people in general just seem to want to rush everything, selling and buying boosts, basically skipping a lot of the game.

  2. Jediwarlock is one of the best hidden gems for WoW content. He makes very palpable videos about lore in an interesting manner. Usually it's the more minor stuff like questlines that you wouldn't necessarilly connect and it's so interesting how it adds to the zones and the world in general. Highly recommend watching some of his stuff

  3. the problem i faced during leveling in those zones is that dynamic respawning made a large chunk of those already difficuilt areas in Redridge and Duskwood impossible to solo and one or the other cave was even too hard to clear as two, when 3+ mobs spawn at a time around you.

  4. I believe the poison effect on the wolves was added in Wrath, before the whole zone was revamped in Cata.

There is a super easy way to find the Defias Messenger, you start at Jangolode Mine to the north of Sentinel Hill & follow the western road, stopping off at the Gold Coast Quarry where he has a stop, and if you don't find him by the time you get to Moonbrook he spawns in front of the Smithy. It can be annoying to find him initially, but once you know how it's really easy & following this route gives you lots of opportunity to kill the Looters & Pillagers, getting as much of that quest out of the way as you can before you have to brave Moonbrook.

There is a net mechanic in Westfall from the Murloc Netters, however there is no quest that sends you to kill them, there are like 7-8 types of murlocs along the coast & the 1 quest you get to kill them only asks you to kill 4 types, the netters are not among them. So the Blackrock orcs likely are the first time new players are actually interacting with the mechanic. I only know about the netters because the Paladin rune for Sacred Shield requires you to use Blessing of Freedom to remove slows/roots from other players 5 times.

Recently I was watching some of the old interviews you and others were doing with the Vanilla WoW devs in the lead up to Classic's release & Mark Kern talked about how they spent like a year fine tuning the Human starting area to get all these great connections that really make the world feel lived in, however spending 12 months on 4 zones was not something they could continue to do so they took the lessons they learned & did their best to apply them to the rest of the world, but in some places it worked better than others, leading to the perception among players that the Horde zones feel "rushed" as the devs simply didn't have the time to devote that same effort to every starting area.

  5. I will never forget walking through those gates on my lock thinking I was strong because I was over level 20 and getting over that little bridge and seeing skull mobs and dipping right away lol

  6. WRONG! There are lvl 12 "Defias Trapper"mobs in westfall that net you! Redridge is NOT the first mobs that alliance encounter that nets you! Unsubbed!! 😜
