so.. shadowlands version of Sargeras? gotta do the bads to defeat the worse bads, it's the only way!
Next xpac, make our death defying "heros" the scourge of the whole universe. As a raid we can basically shit on gods and aspects and Titans.. surely the best ending is the one where the player base destroys Azeroth and all that is.
They really tried to pull a third "the big bad was actually trying to stop a bigger bad the whole time!" after Sargeras and Azshara, huh I was expecting a frustratingly bad defeat cutscene again after the shot-for-shot LotR ripoff for N'zoth, but this is just borderline comical
I had achully hoped he had achieved so wow could get a new fresh start, so Please for the love of god just let us be normal adventures again, these cosmic all mighty stoires are beyond awful anyway
Im not gonna deny the poor execution throughout this expansion, but one thing I gotta ask y'all. When was the last time a villian or antagonist (at least good ones) EVER spilled their whole entire plan less than 5 seconds Into meeting them? Why did we need to know everything possible about Zovaal right from the get go again? Because if you ask me laying everything out on the table kinda kills the story.
so we learned absolutely nothing. Literally this was obvious from 9.0. More of a waste of time. Plus, if Sylvanus bought into his ideas, she never should have switched especially since she was on the winning side.
I liked the idea of the expansion and alot of the zones were fun. But it was obvious from the get go the story would suck. The jailers whole plan was left intentionally vague and drawn out for so long you knew it was going to be anti climatic.
We didn't get the arc story for Anduin as expected, he just… Poof "Hey guys, im normal again!.. Aren't you happy to have your boy king back again like nothing ever happened?!"
Zovaal's story arc was just like plain wet paper… Boring, unemotional, and bland..
The ONLY thing where i was remotely invested and shed a tear.. Was Ysera's death and resurrection arc.
Damn, that was pretty weak. Saving Anduin was a wayyyyyyyyy better Cinematic. Really the only reason i am still playing. But 4 set does make it interesting so i want to get it a a few alts.

I think the Jailer and Shadowlands' story in general could have been a lot more epic if they gave us more and more backstory with each patch about the Jailer. Blizzard could have shown us what it was that scared the Jailer and led to him wanting to qoqnuer the cosmos, then how he reacted to it, how he fought the other Eternal Ones etc I understand that they didn't want Zovaal to be one of those villains who tell the heroes all of their plan, but cmon dude we almost have no info about Zovaal other than that something scared him and he fought his siblings because they didn't share his idea of unifying the cosmos.
The entire waterwalking feature was more epic then this ending sh!t. Did story writer finished middle school at all? Why not to make it radical way? Jailer succeeds, raid wipes, panicked a$$holes jaina, bolvar and others appear screaming "WHat the heck! We gonna all die now!" and arbiters sentencing – word won't be the same ever. And next xpac we are now devided not by alliance-horde, but on those who shares Zovaal goals and want to change everything and Zovaal opponents. And int 10.0 WOW we are traveling around really dieying Azeroth and not wounded like after Cataclysm. And here void lads come and its getting obvious that Zovaal is a real good dude who want to protect reality from those jerks… something like that. Why not?
