2. Hello, great video. I agree, I really got into PvP in shadowlands and i played season 1 and stopped in season 2 and 3. I stopped because I was getting wrecked by people clearly much better then me. Id have some games where I demolish the opponent, but very few games where both teams are evenly matched (these being the most fun and rewarding to win).

3. I left after S1 and returned to shadowlands about a month or so ago. My biggest issue is that there are glaring gear gaps. My guild had this argument on one side they say "its just a few ilvl so its in your head" and the other side is "that few ilvl diff is equating to a double digit % power increase". I havent tested the numbers but based on my own experience gearing up multiple alts this last month, ive seen huge power gaps between gear sets. Full honor geared vs 1400 or 1600 gear is like a 30-40% power difference. 1400 gear vs 1800 gear again feels like a 20% power difference. Not to mention all these low CR RBG and 2s/3s groups are littered with random duelist geared players who absolutely 1-2 shot players in full honor or 1400 gear. When i say power difference im referencing the generally damage/healing output and survivability difference. In 2s playing arms its was such a massive uphill battle with a new character who is 1400 CR facing 90k HP geared toons. Im still winning and climbing but ive been playing for years, if I was new and faced that kind of power disparity I would honestly not enjoy it at all, feels like shit.

   I actually like the carrot on the stick model and getting upgrades as I grind up rating. My issue is those few ilvls are scaling way too hard. From full honor set to 2400 gear should be a 20% gap in power in my opinion. Im not a pro player by any means I peak out around 2200+ but I firmly believe that anyone in full honor should at the very least be somewhat competitive. As it stands the power gap between gear tiers is so massive you dont feel like you have any agency in your win/loss sometimes. Not having agency in your win / loss is what kills games. It why people quit competitive games, while in other games that lack of agency comes from matchmaking in wow it feels like to comes from gear gaps.

   On a side note, I really do feel like MMR is whack this season. Every other season I played it was a slow climb building up your teams mmr and you climbed with it. Since I have returned even in low CR (sub 1000) RBG groups, just trying to farm honor and conq for gearing alts it climbs so stupidly fast. Take a full group of sub 500 CR players in relatively fresh toons, win 3 games in a row and you are instantly facing 1800 mmr Rival geared teams. Which only amplifies the gear issue. You used to be able to play all night with a team building up your mmr and climbing CR. Now it almost feels like you have to game the system by reforming every 3-5 game win streak. I always despised matchmaking systems that seemed to almost build you up to a loss, it should pair you up with equal teams rating wise and eventually your rating will hit a level that you cant win at.

5. Great points. I agree with everything you said, I've beaten pikaboo carries twice at 1900, an elite geared player shouldnt be on 1900. It's all because of dumb gearing design which will change in DragonFlight. However all of this is enhanced by 4sets, those people you talk about at lower rating breaking into 1600 only to get one shotted by feral, mm, assa rogue, fury, destro using a paragraph one button oneshot macro simply log out and play something else. I have duelist friends that have quit because of this, previous duelists struggling at 1900, it's all due to poor game design which amplifies what you mentioned. Elites grinding, streaming, playing for fun at lower ratings etc.

6. They should account bound any mmr bracket. Even if a pro wants to reroll class or spec that should be their problem. They are more likely to stick out beating after beating than a new person. Also locking mmr would assist in preventing carries.

7. 13:30 Yeah it would take serious determination for a person to get into pvp in wow. The barrier for entry in WoW for every activity is too large. Blizzard caters everything they do to the top 1%, /surprisepikachuface there's not enough players? There's tons of other games out to play, and even TBC you can go and play and not deal with the BS in retail. They've made the last 4 expansions include convoluted unnecessary time gates/sinks, so new and returning players just look at it, dip out, and hope next expac will be better. The PvP in wow is suffering because the only people left are the people who have invested the most into the game and Blizzard is failing them by making shit expacs. I quit around 2200 in S1 and that was AFTER sinking WEEKS into grinding for sockets on my PvP gear in the shitty Maw, what a waste of time. Blizzard wastes everyones time, and the people who went through the waste of time defend it so that others have to waste their time because they had to go through it too. What a crock of shit.

   But those people will continue to pre-order and eat their shit sandwiches Blizzard serves up. You don't even have to believe me. Go look at the number of parses for Shadowlands raids compared to TBC. Blizzard is failing retail hard. PvP will be top-heavy until they make their games more accessible to the average player. People who actually want to compete in WoW should be more than happy to do so against someone who has played for 5 hours. It takes too long to gear up to be on an even playing field. Top players have the best gear because why? They are already the top players, why do they need more of an edge? I've personally never understood the PvP in wow. Look at any other serious PvP game. CSGO for example. You NEVER have ANY advantage over any other player other than your skill level. It's more inviting to new people and people who want to compete casually. There is no casual competition in WoW, and it's killing the game.

10. Logged on seen how much work i had to do to gear for pvp how toxic it is to play BGs and gear and then thought damn by the time i do all this the next expac will be out well im out canceled sub and will wait for the next expac why play ?

11. I stopped caring about my CR, honestly. I only care about it because it's important to get better gear. I think the system of improving your pvp gear is good if these weren't the circumstances. Everyone is a pro or a former pro these days… I've always been a PVP casual and what sucks is not being able to win because there's a warrior in the enemy team with 2 more upgrades than you.
