  1. Why don't they just rework Survival to be like Vol'jin in HotS? It would keep the ranged aspect to it while adding a badass flair to it that can also enhance mogs by letting you change the appearance of the weapons you throw.

  2. I'm sorry but saying that mages "stay exactly the same" is flabbergasting. The ENTIRE reason of this class being good is a combination of azerite, essences and corruptions, working together to create this unique system based around mastery. With shadowlands, all of that will be gone, and moreover both shimmer and ignite spread have been nerfed. Fire certainly of all specs is in a way, way worse spot than it is rn, even compating it to other classes

  3. This… this is how WoW has acquired the name World of Meleecraft as of 2 or 3 expansions now. Every class that Dalaran has on this list are all ranged but one. This doesn't come as a surprised, as Blizzard has, for many expansions now, favored melee, whether it's solo content, like Mage Tower in legion, or Visions in BFA, to Mythic+ highly favoring melee… PvP also has favored melee combat, with every melee DPS having a number of gap closers, stuns, silences, stun locks… The only time casters feel competitive anymore is during raid, and that is competitive, not better than melee but about the same. If you ask me, melee is the way to go, whether you find it more fun or not, WoW really pushes people who are interested in a variety of content to main melee DPS.

  4. I’ve played sin since cata and I’ve had enough. SND is not engaging at all, again we will be starved of energy for the first half of the expansion doing nothing but maintain SND, rupture and garrotte. Our talents are DOA. In WOD we got improved SND which baked it into mutilate, when were we ever told we had lost ISND? Now they give it back as a button to press and claim class development! No chance, just sloppy! I’m going to enhancement as I’m sick of waiting for a sin freshen up.

  5. Here is my proposal for Shadow: Start with the MoP version as the base. Add the ability to carry 5 Orbs from WoD. Devouring Plague works like it did in Wrath (24 sec. single target only) and now costs one orb. Mind Spike is replaced by a reworked version of Void Bolt (instant cast, no CD). It does little damage on its own, but can consume up to one Orb to increase its damage (an Orb dump).

Void Form is made a baseline CD (with a row of talents to alter it) OR a talent choice. The point is, it is no longer tied to resources and now can be properly balanced and they can do whatever they want to it so it feels good and is interesting. Make them want to build up damage before dropping it, make it change the rotation; I don't care as long as the fundamental flaw of the ability is addressed.

Mind Sear now gives a buff that stacks (up to 5) when it hits 4 or more targets (call it Shadow Weaving for nostalgia or Void Eruption to fit with the current theme). Void Bolt will consume those stacks and causes it to deal AoE damage (more stacks means more damage and said damage is a percentage of Void Bolt's damage; more on why that's important later).

What does all this mean? We're starting with a rotation that feels great and flows well. The problem with the MoP and WoD iteration was low single target damage. Also, the issue they had with Orbs is you could cap and it wasn't always appropriate to use DP. The change to DP and the reworked Void Bolt solves BOTH issues, and the logical solution to these problems was an Orb dump that did single target damage. The reworked version of Void Bolt is a superior version of Mind Spike for mobs that will die quickly, and since you will be pooling them solves all issues the spec has with movement. It also give you something you can reliably cast on the move even if you don't have Orbs (think how Fel Flame for Warlocks worked) while leaving SW:Death as the BASELINE execute it should be (it always felt best that way and was impactful). If they leave Void Bolt's ability to refresh dots during Void Form it has yet another use.

The small change to the AoE rotation makes a HUGE difference. You want to build up as many stacks as you can and drop them with Void Bolt, but ideally you also want to spend an Orb when you do as it increases its single target damage (and therefore the AoE damage). This means SW:Death on low health mobs and Mind Blast are also part of your rotation at 4+ targets. FINALLY Shadow has an interesting AoE rotation that is juggling priorities just like every other aspect of the spec.

The talents would need to change, but as it stands they need to change. There isn't really much choice at the moment. This is where some utility can come back to the spec (they are really lacking atm compared to other classes). Since they have been shitty in PvP for so long, they could also put in another row of talents that helps with PvP but can also provide some form of utility. There are TONS of ideas from previous iterations… imagine if you could have the old Vampiric Embrace passive that heals you and the party for damage you do. Things like Spectral Guise and Void Tendrils (which fit the new theme well) could come back. Void Tendrils can easily be balanced by reducing its overall duration and any damage the target takes is also done to the Tendrils. What about a reworked version of Phantasm that also reduces damage taken like the glyph used to? (but buffed to compete).

What about bringing back the old Dark Archangel ability from Cata? We all miss the wings. What about a talent that turns your Orbs into Ravens, and when you spend an orb a Shadow Raven flies at the target and does damage? That was a cool thing people miss. What about two more talents that can actually compete with Mind Bender instead of always being some lone oddity no one takes? One could be the effect that spawns a tentacle (Call to the Void) and another could replace Shadowfiend like Mind Bender but instead turn it into a giant Shadow Raven that follows you around and casts Shadow spells at the target. What about a reworked From Darkness Comes Light that can proc a free SW:Death that can be used on a target at any health percentage and doesn't invoke the CD? (doesn't give the Orb unless it hits something 20% or lower). What about a reworked version of Solace and Insanity that gives a buff to your next Mind Flay after you spend X number of Orbs? What about a reworked version of Halo that makes sense to compete with Shadow Crash and Dark Void? That way it is at least a CHOICE and not the "right" or "wrong" one to take. But no, that makes too much fucking sense compared to having it randomly compete with single target talents.

These are ALL ideas based on things that were already in the fucking game… this isn't rocket science Blizzard! This is a WIN WIN solution that makes the part of your community who liked Void Form happy, and the growing number of players who are calling for a return to shadow orbs happy. It fixes all of the issues that all of these iterations had, and you don't have to reinvent the wheel to do so!

  6. I would like to see mages updated, a part of me wishes mages had more "big and impactful" spells as a part of their base rotation, both visually and damage wise, stuff like meteor and glacial spike, or arcane orb look great visually and i think they are fun to use personally but they are talents and you're not always gonna be using them depending on what the meta is.
when i play a mage and all i do is just use my filler base rotation spells like arcane blast and arcane barrage, or frostbolt, flurry and ice lance, it's just boring and not very exciting to play, nor does it feel impactful with how the spells look, i'd rather play a warlock just for the chaos bolt alone

  7. As a SP main I would much rather they redesign SP from the ground up than reverting to old shadow orbs. Having to remember a spreadsheet to optimize dps was atrociously degenerate gameplay.

  8. Lol bro "mage is ok" "mage is unchanged from bfa"….. do you do content?!? Mage is number 1 dps in mythic + and raid eff mage hook up classes that actually need positive change

  9. "If you're a huge fan of how mage plays in battle for azeroth, it's the exact same in Shadowlands"
    That's pretty much the problem.

Fire mage is a watered down version of what it was in Legion. We basically have 3 rotational abilities in BfA. One of them barely has an animation, and 2 of them are just fireballs. The only saving grace is after 1.5 years of expansion the borrowed power puts it in a place of doing the best damage in the game. That's not a good or functional spec.
It has so many wasted abilities.
Phoenix Flames an active talent competing with a passive talent that is mandatory to make the spec work. Meteor locked into a talent. Blast Wave locked into a talent. Living Bomb as a talent and just gutted compared to what it once was. Dragon's Breath is just a niche melee range cc. Why the fuck are all the fun spells talents? Why doesn't Dragon's breath fly forward like that firework in lord of the rings and explode. Why doesn't fireblast have a nice animation (like the finisher spell from the drakes in the Malygos encounter). Why does scorch not have an animation? It's our fast paced cast on the move execute go go go damage move, I want to be flinging firey projectiles at my enemy when I'm doing that.

We're getting Phoenix Flames back in SL, which is fantastic. But it's not the powerful hard hitting chaining exploding spell it was in Legion. And the rest of the spec is just so dull and incomplete without borrowed power. I look at Shadowpriests, Warlocks, Elemental shamans and just sigh as I see all their beautiful unique spell effects and (for most of them) much more varied and interesting rotations. Sure Shadowpriests have gameplay issues atm but at least they look fucking spectacular.

  10. For shadow priest they should bring back the spamable mind spikes and add orbs back . So you can have orbs and insanity you can use orbs to spend devouring plague and make it do great damage and you can use insanity for void form

  11. Honestly, they could swap the dot of Devouring Plague and the Burst of Void form. Swap it so that Devouring Plague does a flat chunk of damage, while activating Voidform puts a dot that does the same damage as Devouring plague but over time. This means that voidform is excellent for single target long term fights while Devouring Plague means you have an insanity spender that isn't shit.

  12. Not gonna lie, maybe druids, where ive also heard the boomkin is in a good spot on the alpha/beta. Fire mage just took an entire xpac of demolishing damage meters….. hunter has never been bad in any xpac
