I have never ever used add ons
It would drastically increase the skill gap, not the cap. Too many not as great players have addons play the game for them. Even in higher tier content. M+ and raiders all use MANY addons. Especially WeakAuras
I believe that having no add-ons would benefit lower level players more. There are several reasons for this.
1. Lower level players often do not have the right add-ons, too many add-ons, or none at all.
2. Higher level players utilize add-ons much more efficiently and effectively than a lower level player. They will be able to squeeze all the juice out of an addon as complicated and sophisticated as weak auras, and PVP add-ons.
3. Without add-ons raid difficulties will have to be much lower so people can reasonably clear content.
What do you mean by add ons?
I good with a life improvement add like for UI, but yeah it would. Mostly because adds tend to play for you… if you’re doing a boss then you should already know where to stand or at least listen to your healer. For pvp it would definitely smooth out the playing field. With out adds you have to rely on experience and knowledge. I think the rankings would look a lot different if there were no more add ons… and stop doing macros that do your whole damn rotation 🤦🏽♂️
If you dont think the top end players heavily rely on addons you are crazy.
