At the best of times Time Gating in World of Warcraft is bad but in WoW Shadowlands it has been taken to a whole new level.

  1. Time gating to wow devs is content…to players time gating is a reason to play other games..not that it doesn't happen in other games..it's just not as heavily used as in wow.

  2. So weird to hear people upset about time gating of story. I like having content being slowly released. Anticipation is a good feeling.

What I don’t like is time gating of leveling alts to current content.

  3. I've been saying for months maybe even years now that they need to stop gating content and I always have people jumping my case saying that I'm wrong, they they have to gate content or that well every game does it.. Just let us play our game and if we burn through your content in 1 day, that means you need to get to work on getting more out there. Gating doesn't keep us interested, it pisses us off.
I also want to see the damn pathwalker shit go away. I want WoW to go back to once you hit max level, spend like 5K gold, I would even be ok with 15-25K at this point to get flying cuz it used to be a huge flex to get flying the day an expansion went live, or at least I felt that way about it

  4. Timegating sucks! Do they not realize we're aware that they drag out a small bit of content over weeks? As you said in a prior video, as long as we keep throwing money at them, nothing will change. 🙁
I wouldn't mind timegating if we got a TON of content so week 1 for example, it takes us 4 hours to get to the next piece and then week 2 takes several hours and so on. But mostly, yeah, just want it to go away.

  5. What really pisses me off, this 21 hours of content is mostly recycled material. Reskinned quests in boring zones. No new things, no creativity. Devs don't even try to pretend they care. Than we get the 9.2 video where they literally say with a straight face they worked so hard to give us a good game.

  6. I really want to know where Blizzard's budget goes. How can it be so much larger than FFXIV's yet Shadowlands provided embarassing little content compared to Shadowbringers. As for M+, of that low percentage that do M+ I bet only a small fraction of those people actually do M+ because they want to and enjoy it. Most are people only there for the high ilvl gear.

  7. Timegating in WoW can be good, it was done with Ahn'Qiraj, it was done with Wotlk as you couldnt fight Arthas on week one and arguably it was done REALLY well in Suramar, and it could be done well in 9.2 with the two part Raid, but yeah the way Blizz does Timegating right now is such shit. i want them to stop pushing out content super fast, and push out big, fat, and THICC chunks of content, even if it has to take longer, that would be fine. if Blizzard wants player retention so bad, then they need to give us a real reason to log on every fucking day, it CAN be done in a way that isnt toxic shit.
