I like your warehouse idea, but I’d go the opposite and have items cost more. That way it still incentivizes participating when the trading post is current.
That's my big problem with the system, not really wanting much of what has been offered. I wish they would offer more basic looking items, and/or darker colors.
I'm still waiting for the red Blademaster sword to return, I missed out on it, and now I really want it, but they haven't brought it back once since it originally appeared
The only thing from the Post I’ve enjoyed have been the mounts. The weapons and armor are the most out-of-place low res junk.
Stuff being too expensive.
I'm ok with not having enough tender to buy everything, that I get. The warehouse idea hits my main problem with the TP: availability. Theres no way to plan ahead outside of blindly saving. Stuff like ensembles, arsenals, mounts, and even stuff like the colored hood/shoulder capes/tabards should always be available (or at least stick around for 3-6 months at a time)
– Lower the costs.
– Increase the amount we can get.
– Release the preview more than a week in advance.
yeah i agree with the returning item time table; I didnt even start the game (again) untill marh of this year meaning i missed out on that full year worth of goodies and im actually just mentally begging for theres a chain mail tabard looking one and one that gives you the body paint of the blood trolls foir my more Savage inspired look
I just hope the 1500 is for every month have the first 500 earnable in the first 1k points but then go up to 2k points for an extra 500 as a mega bonus reward.
Most of the items are way overpriced. The robe set from last month didn't even have pants but they want 850 for it? Only mounts should cost that much.
Bring back the triumphant blade masters great sword!
Honestly, I’ve got pretty much all I wanted so far from the trading post. Yes you have to make choices, but who need 26 recolor of capes.
Also, I love the idea of the warehouse, but the trading post is pretty much a FOMO to keep us subscribed every month, so even though it would be great, I don’t think they’ll ever do that
Maybe "unpopular" items in the Trading Post (for some definition of "unpopular") would go to the Warehouse, as there was clearly too much stock, and be offered at a discount depending on how long they were there. If they're in the warehouse for months, the price might drop significantly. And if an item is in high demand – you may never see it in the warehouse, better pick it up if/when it becomes available on the trading post.
A easier fix would be to allow us to freeze more than one item.
Nothing I had to have this month, not even anything worth freezing. I got the Sylvanus outfit transmog from last month but overall, meh.
Im a bit disappointed we didng get a christmas themed mount.
I definitely read that Blue post as a one-time increase to 1500, not permanent. Did I miss something? 1:25
I think something like a Catalog would be good, once an item rotates out of the Trading post it goes into the Catalog. you can buy things off the catalog for the same tender that they were on the post for but you would also need to pay an extra gold cost for shipping, I know Blizzard love their gold sinks. If Blizz was feeling really spicy, they could add flash deals on the Catalog where for 3-5 days one or two items on the Catalog get their gold price discounted, or even the tender cost reduced. returning items will still pop up on the post so people don't feel forced to drop gold on things they want. Idk, pitching ideas
I m down with the warehouse idea but definatly not on the discount. It should be a carrot on the stick on the side for month's where nothing of interest is on the TP. I would how ever also add a limit to the warehouse per month. Like if you got 5k tendies and you want to buy lots of old stuff then to bad cus it is a limit of 3 items per month.
This would keep it more unique aswell as not reward people for saving for to long just to buy it all later because they wont get everything they want before next month there again. And then it would be new rewards competing for the tendies.
Are you sure it’s 1500 every month after?
I read it as 500 bonus for the 2 year anniversary, which makes sense. But didn’t think it would be an ongoing bonus thing..
I highly disagree that they should discount items as that punishes players for using their system in the first place. I like the idea of a warehouse but maybe like make it more simple instead of being able to freeze just one item maybe we get to freeze 6 items or something along those lines. Or perhaps if things were to go into a separate "store" we could continue to earn tender past our initial 1500 tender and would be counted as "warehouse tender" or something along those lines that we could use to purchase these older items (maybe that would need some sort of soft cap on it to make it fair). Overall I've really enjoy the trading post and there have been some really neat items to come out of it.
I try to treat the trading post as a way to each month get something SUPER COOL for free. I pick the thing I like most. And than spend pretty much everything else on smaller items like cloaks/hoods/boots. But the biggest challenge I find is sometimes I have to pick between a mount and a pet. Or between multiple mounts and a pet.
That said, I'm thrilled they've reduced the price of pets over time. When older ones rotated in, they are their original price which makes sense because otherwise people who bought it the first time round will feel ripped off. But… it's hard to cough up that much tender on the repost!
I feel conflicted on the announcement of more tender. I didn't know it was an always thing, but more of a occasional-bonus thing. I'm not against more tender, but cynical as it may sound I just worry it will mean over time things will become more expense. But as long as there is never one item that costs more than what you can earn in a month, … I think it's still fair. Ish. 🙂
Thanks for sharing the spreadsheet! It's interesting to see what's come back on the post (multiple times even!). btw they really need to add text to those parasols that they have a L48 restriction to use 'em. Not buying any more of those, they got me once but not again!
Add an actual rotation or have all items return at the end of the year, so that there aren't items that never return just because they're not super popular. Otherwise it is the opposite of its intended purpose: it currently introduces more items than it returns, and all items later become unobtainable, worsening the FOMO and also making even more items unavailable for new and returning players.
I can't find the Murloc P.J's
Hey Soul thanks for holding the niche you do, I especially love your idea videos
I think the warehouse is a good idea but with a few caveats.
One being you must spend a certain amount of tenders on the trading post to gain access to the warehouse each month that way it's not just constantly hoarding tenders and waiting for cheap stuff.
Two is that not all items go to the warehouse after a time.
Maybe only select mounts and items over certain prices go in at the devs discretion.
Lower priced items like cloaks boots etc go in automatically as they are cheap enough for anyone to buy any month.
Usually I spend my 1k tender on "simplistic" & casual items I like .. I'm not into all those overdesigned and crazy trasmogs. From time to time I maybe pick up weapon or shield.
While the full collecion of cloaks, hoods, tabards, more realistic weapons etc. are priority for me .. I can never afford thigs like mounts or pets – those are just to expensive and I think I have 'frozen" hoverboard for 6 months now – but never really could afford to buy it out.
Things still need to come down. Let just say you have an average of 1500 a month. You can buy 2-3 things.
I have gotten every mount pet and toy and a few other cosmetics.
I'm good.
