  1. So this hole crystal thing had me thinking. So this also not the only place we have recently seen a crystal of pure light. We found one in hillsbrad during seasons of discovery. Also had a void vs light questline with the box and the fragment of shadow from it. Also that where we think we see Xal'atath. Also studying a smaller crystal of light. what would happen if that one in hillsbrad is a shard that split off from the one in hallowfell? Could that be how Xal'atath learned about the one in hallowfell. Not saying its anything ground breaking but made me think back to it. That she could have been planning this even long before then events at the sunwell or had a hand in making sure we did infuse the well with light.

  2. Why has no one mentioned the fact that Danath Trollbane is one of the Alliance "troops" that finally arrives with Thrall and Jana? His connection to the Arathi and Stromgarde has to be relevant?

  3. The only thing that bothers me is where have the ararhi been? I thought they had been destroyed during the rts games. Been playing since 04, never seen anything arathi related in-game. Granted I've only played horde. Still I do know trollbane is arathi but I remember it being a castle in ruins in arathi highlands. They had nothing to do with the zone no? They still had an empire then? When and why did it collapse and why wasn't it ingame?

  4. I hardly buy this explanation. IMO the Beledar dropped at the Exodar's crash time, maybe as a side effect or as a rescue device sent by outer space Naaru.
Also, there are many hints that the Sunwell was imbued by Light as meant in the older lore – of maybe the Sacred Flame itself, before Arthas desecrated it and then Kael'thas breaking it.

  5. My only question is where is the empire? I think the sunwell probably did have some significance in the events, but a grand and mighty empire the Arathi currently are not. I think we have got some time shenanigans going on here

  6. I think anything in fantasy referred to as 'the Empire' with a leader named 'the Emperor of Light' with hints of xenophobia and lashings of religious fanaticism is probably not going to be good news in the long run. The Arathi Empire maybe an ally in the worldsoul saga, butn they'll be an enemy after it.

  7. Uh. Metzen didn't say that Midnightvwas the final clash between Light and Void. He mentioned that was something players were looking towards and as fairly hype. Him mentioning it in that announcement has some implications but that's very, very loose

  8. Question: Where is this Arathi Empire? Where is the emperor? For as long as i've been playing this game, the Arathi Highlands has nothing that hints at a big active human empire. Only a sacked keep ocupied by bandits and ogres. Where is this main land they talk about when refering to their people?

  9. What I see is that people is ignoring the fact that Magni purified the earthen from the void with Azeroth powers. Taking that into account and the fact that the nerubian mural have an old god with a diamond shape crystal very similar to Beledar, makes me thing that the light form was made by Azeroth purifying or maintaining the void inside with her powers, that can explain why Sargeras started the cycle, she is wounded and can't maintain the void apart

  10. The Belethor theory is good, but it completely dismisses the Black Empire that reigned over Azeroth for a millennium. What was Belethhor doing at the whole time? Surely it wouldn't have just let the Old Gods wreak havoc on the planet for all that time until the titans showed up.

  11. Why have we never seen a 'light' old god, but the 'old gods' the light send to azeroth change from light to void and back?
Is there an old god, that turns to light and back to void, over and over? Like the crystal in Hallowfall? 🙂
And where is this empire? It should be somewhere on azeroth and if the expedition started in BC, from where?

  12. The Arathi Empire fell before Vanilla wow (I think wc2, even). That mage might have been trying to figure out a way home for the last 15 years, but that does not mean they got teleported down there 15 years ago. No way the Arathi weren't teleported down anything less than like, 25-30 years ago.

  13. Wait… 15 years?
So they not only built that city in only 15 years but also had a generation of mixed-raced babies that are now adults in that time?
I mean Faerin said that the Humans and High Elves became one people. And look like Humans with slightly longer ears.
And if it is only 15 years, why were there no Dwarfs on the Expedition?
Weren’t Dwarfs and Humans already allied?

  14. Fun fact the name Avalorne is reference Avalon from Arthurian legend… but also, I believe Tanelorn from a fiction writer and DND by extension. Tanelorn is between life and death, a land of long dead champions trapped in a “void”, to be used later… there’s more to it but dang, sounds pretty Warcrafty.

  15. If the new lore is that a magical island crops up that no one has ever heard of before and has never been hinted at anywhere in lore and magically, for no reason at all there is a huge human EMPIRE down there that people also have never heard of before? Nah you can keep your new lore. Dont know why companies let millenials anywhere near the writing room
