Some of the oldest stories in World of Warcraft Classic went agonizingly unresolved as the developers at Blizzard Entertainment tried to get Vanilla World of Warcraft out the door… One such story was the tragedy of the Shady Rest Inn, a questline in Dustwallow Marsh that put players in the shoes of a detective trying to track down and dispense justice to the monsters that killed an innocent family at the border of the Barrens. Thankfully, that story has since been told, and remains one of the best storylines in WoW, even as we approach the new expansion Dragonflight. So, let’s get to the bottom of the mystery and tragedy of the Shady Rest Inn!

  1. I swear blizzard just threw in the towel and said "f it, just put 150 kill x quests in STV and call it a day." Amazing to me almost 20 years later no one decided to fill in all the incomplete zones with actual content. If they came up new starter content, filled in all the incomplete zones with classic gameplay…well those servers would explode.
