The plague covering the region was mostly dispelled during the Cataclysm, thanks to the efforts of the Cenarion Circle. Although life started to emerge once again, war still raged places as Andorhal and Gahrron’s Withering. After the Battle for Andorhal between the Alliance forces, commanded by the death knight Thassarian, and the Horde Forsaken, commanded by Sylvanas Windrunner and the death knight Koltira Deathweaver, the Forsaken manage to gain control over the city of Andorhal casting out the Alliance and ending any Scourge presence.
The Menders’ Stead is in the center of Western Plaguelands and it is inhabited by the Cenarion Circle and Argent Crusade, who are cleansing the area.
After the fall of the Scarlet Crusade and the war in Outland, the fight against the Scourge was brought to Northrend and after the victory claimed by the Ashen Verdict, the town of Hearthglen was reclaimed by its former lord and the leader of Argent Crusade, Tirion Fordring; it now serves as a main base of operations and training ground for the Argent Crusaders in Lordaeron.
The Crusade’s reports that Caer Darrow and Scholomance were still active and in operation as a school of necromancy, under the control of Darkmaster Gandling.

Somehow, the optimistic / heroic tone of the Western Plaguelands soundtrack (composed by Glenn Stafford) does not match the rest of the themes preset here in Western Plaguelands (Cursed, Ghosts, Haunted, Volcanic etc.) Also, while questing, I've discovered that the theme can't be listened to too many times in a row. I did my best to avoid the annoyances, but I am not too sure I have succeeded. Also, even if it's not in Cataclysm, I've included MoP Scholomance at the end because it's part of Retail.

First 😊
I am a simple man, I see Meisio uploading something, I instantly click thumbs up
4th
but what matters is the participation
Late again. 🙂
Ah damn it, I wasn't aware WPL changed that much. I will need to revisit the place. Thanks for the great video!
Thank you Meisio!
It's always a nice treat to start the day with a new Meisio video, so thank you!
Great scenes, love the gloomy atmosphere.
while It's a nice looking zone now, I too noticed the repetitive heroic music playing over and over again. Quite annoying and good thing I have the music addon that can fix that for me.
Anyways, once again a great upload!
I love the Western Plaguelands <3 thank you so much yet again for the great upload!!💖
Always so much nostalgia with the original zones of WoW. I've quested and used to grind mobs for runecloth way back in the day. It was the zone where I got my first ever epic world drop item, the Glowing Brightwood Staff also way back in the day🥰

I remember first coming here after Cataclysm, being surprised how the atmosphere actually changed after the events of Vanilla. Hard to swallow that that was 13 years ago.
Another wonderful video Meisio, don't get hung up on the views, the ones that do watch it really appreciate and I'd bet watch it over and over and all the way through each time.
just what I needed today- thank you sir- hope all is well
I like that you can see the progress in the land being healed.
Amazing work as always 🙂
Thanks for the vid! Always happy to see a new Meisio upload
I quit WoW a few years back, but ever since I make it something to level a character to max at least once per year and just immerse myself into the game.
Last playthrough was 1-Max using just a controller.
This is one of my favourite maps from Cataclysm. Nature is recovering, although a trace of the past still remains.
all hail meisio, king of youtube, lord of the music and ambience.
