These are the same people who think the Warcraft 2/3 story has nothing to do with WoW. The same people who think Anduin is a pussy or "they took the war out of warcraft". As if Horde and Alliance haven't been working together since the RTS days. Many of these characters have been in the game since Warcraft RTS days. So, half of them are trolling when they get called out and half of them are just straight up morons. Some of them have played the game for 20 years which is hilarious.
The saddest part is that messages like this fall on deaf ears =/ The same ignorance that you are pointing out will not be heard by the people who need to hear it, and the ignorance will continue
Of course no one reads Sheep will always sheep.
I prefer to be alone most of the time and I've learned a great deal from it, such as:
Appreciate people, but do NOT depend on them. They ultimately have their own shit to deal with and that is totally understandable.
Appreciate advice but never feel like you need to accept them, nor should you force advice onto someone who has not specifically asked for it.
Try at least once to live by yourself for an x amount of time, so you can truly have some original thoughts. It will teach you a great deal about yourself and it will also make you appreciate people more.
Do not let others influence your choices, there is no right or wrong answer to this life. So at least make your own choices and you should never feel bad for making a bad one, this is how we learn.
Try to respect people, even if they are the complete opposite of you, because they have just as much right as you to be here.
When given the option to be either good or bad, always chose to be good.
I know pyro doesn't mean it as if being someone who prefers to be alone is ultimately a bad thing, but it does come off a bit as such.
I'm not entirely certain that WoW even has 'themes' anymore at this point. It's clearly trying to have them, but the narrative is so full of unopened mystery boxes, extreme course changes in stories, and clear incompetence (possibly even malevolence when you consider Sylvanis) that any theme is lost in the static of the story telling.
Thinking about the you need people thing made me reflect on the blue dragon quests. How almost everyone of them had the same problem that they were trying to tackle their problems alone. Not all of them though there was one exception and that I think is the most important part that one of them was inserted who didn’t fit the mold as a reminder a single solution won’t work for everyone. Some people don’t have a good family to return to or at least they aren’t ready to leave the one they found and that’s beautiful that they could find something new.
the titans being "bad" instantly is so wrong… over time they have been pretty fucked up.. all the way back to ulduar where they were willing to kill the world. Woke is a negative term because of the people who are sooo progressive that they are regressive lol…
wow lore is awesome and the world building is incredible most people who criticize it have never read a single quest in their lives
The entire first minute of this video encapsulates why I hate the 'hurr WoW has a bad story/has no story' rhetoric. While yes, a lot of the focus is put on end-game raid and M+ content, there's quite a lot put into the *actual story getting there*. But a majority of players, myself included, will skip the story to reach said end-game (which is one thing I want to change in TWW). It helps yet doesn't help that the quests and stories don't have 5-10 minute long text box cutscenes a la FFXIV, which doesn't take player agency away, allowing them to turn in a quest and fly away before any NPC interaction can take place.
Pyro, you likely have 160ish IQ which allows you to perceive patterns that regular people simply cannot. From their perspective, you're an idiot or a madman. That's not the reality, but that's just how the masses see it. There's a small chance that they might see what you see with enough evidence, but you will not find the open-mindedness that you seek among the masses. It pains me to watch them trigger you all the time. Some of your recent theories felt weak (in terms of evidence) to me, but I still told myself "Okay, what is he seeing, that I am not seeing? I will trust his hyper-intuition that regular people don't have."
i didnt get the "woke" reference here? i mean yea, its inherently a politically charged term, and i agree its definitely overused, but what was he referencing that was "woke" here exactly?
We are ALL a product of our CHOICES in life. You can either choose to read and understand, or choose not to and become a braindead sheeple. What you choose in life, from the minute, to the grandiose…is all in each of our hands. Either choose well, or choose to be doomed, it is YOUR journey! Just don't BLAME anyone outside of your own choices for the outcome you yourself have designed.
Hey pyro. Its kinda like what what Thrall says to anduin in the new cinematic. Time alone wont heal anything. Gotta face the truth.
Pyro for president!
The titans ain't evil, they are political realists.
Certainly odyn is straight up evil, so some may be evil, and maybe we will never know which.
Was the jailer evil? Yes, certaily, total unhiged prog.
Were the old gods evil? Yes, total crazy groipers.
But does that means death or shadow are evil unto themselves?
Great video man
Dont know if the music was playing during the stream or if it was edited in but turned out 10/10 with the rant/convo
I love the lore. I read everything. But, then again, I'm older than a lot of players (66) and our house has 2500 books in it (and my Amazon, B&N accounts have more!!) I also write, which gives me a perspective on this lore in game that some others don't get. No character worth their mention is all good or all evil and the "bad guys" in the stories never think they're the bad guys. Arthas was doing what he thought was right in Stratholm. Later, he was controlled as the Lich King, but even when we didn't know that, he thought he was doing what the world needed. Illidan, the boss in the end of Black Temple turned out to be one of the heroes of Legion and I'm quite sure we've not seen the end of him yet. Turalyon is considered a Hero of Azeroth but there's something twinky about him that I don't trust as far as I could throw his armor.
I've enjoyed your analysis of things, you hit things in your discussions that I hadn't seen and I now have the books piled around my cockpit area so I can re-read things and my husband is complaining about my book budget as I am buying more to read through. I even got him to pull my collectors editions so I could get the books out of the boxes. I'm disabled, I have an area with my laptop and notebooks for my own writing and my wow notes along with the genealogy research on our families. I don't get out much anymore so my connection to people is through my computer and games, which makes me nuts that I'm not in a guild right now.
Keep doing your thing, Pyro, I'm watching and reading. And you make me think.
didnt expect this from a wow channel. Well done to this servant of God 🙂
I think it's a bit overstated that no one reads anymore, maybe people around you – but I'm having a different experience. It would be lovely to not have such absolutistic way of speaking because it would be imprecise. And real life lessons come to the individual without constant feedback. There are infinite perspectives looking at wow and all are valid, even the ones that do not want to read.
MoP taught me that I fight for family, friends, and food.
Woke is a term used to describe Moral relativism and collectivism, combining. Its a close cousin to that nihilism that was spoken of.
I don't believe the writers at Blizzard are competent enough to put that nuance down on paper. One critical flaw in Dragonflight's narrative overall is all the talk of unity, coming together and family and yet how many times have we gotten story arcs revolving separate flights rather than individual ones such as the blue and black ones, arguably the better written ones of the five? Alexstrasza and Kalec don't even mention Krasus once.
Amen
Me personally would love to talk about WoW lore. But I always feel like the thoughts I have, people have already considered or even are way too far out and stupid. So I end up watching Pyromancer to learn about the lore and his intensive research into the lore. So even if I come looking for an answer, I absolutely love hearing what Pyromancer has to say and I heavily enjoy listening to his theories. By far my favorite WoW lore content creator but I still watch other creators to see what they have to say, and try make up my own beliefs, albeit I usually tend to just agree with Pyromancer…..So maybe I am an NPC afterall.
Said on the discord and I'll say it again here: a big problem is how many people think WoW's writers can't do subtlety, so they don't bother looking for any subtle clues or subtext, then they either complain that there's no subtlety or they complain things don't make sense
Imagine throwing such massive, literal tantrums over a game, its world, and that world's writers only to come back to it despite the fact that nothing has changed.
