  1. Honestly. With the meta stuff and time limit creating competetiveness. Thats why I just created a warrior on Classic ear with a low Pop and just level there. And I'm having a blast. Most stuff I do need I can buy at a low price on the AH and otherwise I once in a while do a dungeon with a dew people that are online. Its been incredibly wholesome with everyone and really fun. So if you wanna get the old shool WoW experience with less competeiveness. Creat a character on a server where you dont have a character on, start leveling and stop when you feel like you dont want to level anymore for now and come back a week or 2 or more later. Because youre not gonna raid. You dont need to rush. You dont need to play optimal. Have fun and enjoy the world. And if youre gonna come at me like "Oh whats the point in that. Why would i do something that doesnt bring me anything" then you dont understand what video games are about and you need to go outside. And for those who want to try it. Join me on Pyrewood Village EU. Would love to see you on there

  2. Nek'Rosh server in Hardcore Classic WOW is definitely not toxic, mostly wholesome, helpful and a nice place to be with very few griefers, toxic people etc. compared to the amount of players and especially because we don't really have streamers here. So the non toxic players still exist they just stay away from streamer servers or NA servers.
Stitches EU Hardcore is 10x more toxic than Nek'Rosh for sure, and all NA servers are 10x more toxic than Stitches. Come check it out.

  3. It's basically online road rage.
It usually stems from an expectation that other people should have to be as good as you are or they shouldn't be in your lane or "waste your time" /risk involving them in failure.
That said the actually best players usually understand that and are typically less toxic towards people and increasingly frustrated with themselves or RNG.

  4. Certain streamers certainly have an impact but even more so are demonstrative of the players. The difference between Asmongold and Savix or Guzu etc etc etc …is astonishing. Some are kind, hardworking at friendliness and almost asmr in tone and personality. Others love the toxic, tend to relish confrontation and find the wrong in the game, it’s rules or staff.
I know which kind of person I’m drawn to, irl or in the game.

  5. Everything has become more toxic, including wow. I dont think its anything specific to wow. People just like to be negative on the internet because it makes them feel good. People use their anonymity in horrible ways. Anonymity is important but its so annoying how cocky it makes people.

  6. People dont play the game to role play, because it has a sub. And people who play jst to chill dont play games with subs. They play vr chat.

So people who still role play have snuck cost, and dont want to move on because of there wow love.

I didn't get into wow and im waiting it to remove the sub so I can rp.

  7. A combination of bad players pretending to be good players, extreme min/maxing, and players incapable of being flexible (most of you only play the specs guides tell you to play, and then you do it badly) in combination with Blizzard's aggressive capitalism and insertion of feminist/pride beliefs into a predominantly straight male audience is probably what made it toxic.

The worst thing today though is genuinely the players. Players who think they are good ignore basic mechanics. DPS do high damage but ignored mechanics. Tanks just move and dont stop to check the party status. Healers leaving groups had become a very regular thing simply because they can't be bothered to heal these people. Often these people try to move fast and take shortcuts like skipping patrol packs, only to wipe on a boss cos the patrol pack has walked up behind them.
Sometimes you do get a group of good players and it all flows perfectly, and this is what most players are probably aiming for but they don't think about what they're doing. They just think they know how to play cos a guide told them how to level and where your BiS loot is and how to get it. You even have your rotations told to you :s and it's genuinely insulting to encounter these types of players, see then recklessly breal CC and not counterspell/kick, and then they have the nerve to try and tell you how to play.
