  1. Visa is it possible to lower the line of subtitle text slightly below Josh's chin? That way it's still easy to read but we can still admire his facial hair 😀 thanks for all the awesome work you do

  2. So taking money to give an honest review where you have to say that it's sponsored is somehow being noble to your audience? Im sorry but i think this is fucking stupid, you are in a dream position where you can take huge sponsorships and be fully transparent and honest about a topic you are very passionate about but you turn it down because you think some people you'll never know or meet wont like it. You just lost free money your community would have congratulated you for taking but turned it down for Internet vanity

  3. Taking a principled stance when able to definitely be worthwhile. The issue that Josh acknowledges is that needing more money out of necessity undermines that, and while you may become a hypocrite, I think the ideal is still worthwhile to pursue.

  4. More like your audience dont need it, WoW the most boring and bland AAA MMORPG on the market. This game was streamlined to death. There is nothing left what makes it interesting.

  5. Your honour and self-respect does not have a price, what an excellent example to set in these times when our leaders seem totally deplorable and worthless.

To rephrase the quote, "If you don't stand up for what you believe in, then you admit you don't stand for anything."

Go forth with power, Josh. salute

  6. bruh, take the sponsorship, play the retoilet garbage for a few days, then never touch that crap again. If you were playing Destiny 2, or some crap gacha game, yeah, it'd be a big problem, but for all its faults, wow retail is actually a GAME at its core, its just the endgame grind is a junkie-simulator for plebs.

Theres far worse games to be streaming out there, and i say that as a fierce critic and hater of blizzard, and ex wow-classic player.

  7. "value" always indicates an exchange (or an offer). It's not just if someone values something, but how much. Values are proven in the demonstration and most people disappoint. It may sound harsh but I'm glad your values were challenged so that we can see what they are.

  8. Like most things in life, people's beliefs and values are conditional or relative. And as I've gotten older and thought about it more and more, that isn't problem per se. While it's admirable or respectable to hold a belief through thick and thin, it's also really bad to not adjust to new information if that is required. You go from admirable and respectable to stubborn and foolhardy.

I'm reminded of a interview (or panel or something) of the Beastie Boys and the topic of their song "Girls" came up. It's a pretty misogynistic song and I forget which of the artists said what I will paraphrase: I would rather be a hypocrite than still be wrong.

So I have had to learn that slowly; to make sense of our messed up world lol. To keep it succinct, what I take away is the there is a big difference between being a hypocrite and being actively hypocritical.

  9. With enough 0s, a conflict of values is inevitable. Money isn't just money, it's the capability to realize something including an alternate value

At what point does the opportunity cost become high enough that you're giving up on a value eitherway?

Simplest example is valuing a charity for a cause. If blizzard hypothetically give you a million and you refuse, you're valuing this integrity of that value over the tens of thousands you can help

    It's a strange dilemma

  10. Plus when you shell out people make fun of you and you embarrass yourself and stuff. A lot of people who sell out have no real self respect, so they don't care if they look like an idiot. Some even thrive on it. Other people do care about not looking like a complete idiot though.
