  1. Doesn’t bother me but it definitely got rid of making random friends while waiting for boats and such. It was also the time you’d chat in guild. I do wish flying was everywhere though, I so badly want to get to the top rooms of silvermoon

  2. I still remember blizzard talking how making classic zones a flying zone would be impossible because of how the buildings and zones were made.
I kinda still think it ruined alot of wow having flying just readily available and not locked behind gold investments and level requirements.
Still waiting on customizable mounts announced with lich king but was deemed impossible as well.😅

  3. No one bothers to mention the thousands of gold blizzard required to learn flying for multiple expansions and then in wod they were just like " hey you know how you spent 10000g for flying well screw you and your gold you gotta walk cause screw you and your time because we're blizzard and we don't care about what you want as long as you're forced to look at this little digital tree you'll never see again"

But I do enjoy being able to dragon ridfrom the get go. And I'll add the pathfinder achievement this expac was fun to get for a change

  5. The problem with flying wasn't even that it killed immersion, Blizzard just locked it behind achievements, instead of just making zones cater to flying mounts for questing and farming. We never got Storm Peaks 2.0, and I don't even think DF did that either.

  6. Speaking from my own experience, I don’t have much time to play during the week. I prefer flying for the purpose of getting to my destinations as expeditiously as possible so I can maximize what little time I’m afforded.

For those who prefer ground mounts for the sake of immersion, I get it. You have that option. Utilize your ground mounts if you have an abundance of time. Just allow all players who pay the same subscription the freedom of choosing what best suits their needs and their play style. That’s the one thing that’s always bothered me over the years…Blizzard micromanaging how I play.

  7. Felt like a big achievement and when they started gating it is when i stopped playing, i lasted til wod. Unfortunately, the state of the game went way beyond just flying.

  8. If they want to utilize ground mounts, they need to make the zone completely flat. I like getting to rares before they die. Keep the mountains to zones we can fly in

  9. I quit the game when I had to get pathfinder for the 3rd time in a row. Those “critics” don’t have jobs and don’t want the game to be fun, but rather completely homogenized.

  10. No one who was playing OG BC or Wrath 16 years ago (Jeez seems like yesterday) was complaining that they had flight. The only argument was that Cata rebuilt old world and that was honestly a mistake.

The warlords flight fiasco was one of many reasons it as an xpac is seen even to this day as a massive piece of trash. Flying was not a mistake it was a feature that made the early expansions much more enjoyable.

  11. It only became a controversy in Draenor because that was the first expansion that gatekept the ability to fly behind a massive pile of questing.

While although BC did make you get 70 first, from what I remember, it wasn't near as bad as the WOD requirement.

So in Draenor, if you were on a PVP realm, the few that did have flying unlocked were way too OP, while those who didn't have flying had no way of escaping.
