It was really odd for me to make this Benchmark because this game was/is more than just a game to me. People always ask what do I play(or at least have played) in my freetime, well there you have your answer.
Before getting really active on youtube, thats the game I played, every day & every night, for over a decade. You would for sure call me crazy or an addict if you know the massive playtime I have in WoW. I played this really really hardcore.
I was in a top 100 guild, had raids that startet in the morning and ended after midnight.
I’m also an excessive mount collector, did Sha of Anger(and still do) with 37 chars a ID that all had a coin lmao, and no I still don’t have the mount. I also was a achievement hunter, I wanted every achievement or feat of strenght, but thats not the case anymore.
With all that youtube stuff I don’t really have the time anymore, but thats ok because I enjoy what I do now.

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands is the eighth expansion pack for the massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) World of Warcraft, following Battle for Azeroth. It was announced and made available for preorder at BlizzCon on November 1, 2019. Originally scheduled for release on October 27, 2020; its release has been delayed until November 23, the sixteenth anniversary of the release of the original game.
The expansion will open up the Shadowlands, the realm of the dead in Warcraft lore. It will feature the game’s first “level squish” and a completely overhauled leveling system, access to the Death Knight class for the races that did not previously have access to it, Covenants in the new zones, and new dungeons and raids.

I get 45 fps in Boralus harbor with my rtx 3090 and 1950x threadriper without rtx 😅 my cpu is sucking ass need upgrade on November 5
Btw RTX works beter when u set shadows to ultra instead of ultra-high.

Good job. Love this video. Do you think with RX 6900XT or/and with R9 5900X the FPS will change dramatically or it doesnt really matter in WoW. I plan upgrade my PC just for playing WoW and i dont know if nVidia/AMD and Intel/AMD would be better choice.
Jans Update:
When i create one more user for windows and run Wow at 4K in my main monitor and run wow in 1440p in the second monitor my FPS in the 4K monitor increase 20 FPS in boralus harbor IDK wtf is going on remember my cpu is 1950X 16 core
To be honest and fair with you the difference between 4k + RTX and normal settings is almost hardly noticeable with the naked eyesI swear to god.. WoW is the only game that can't catch up with the modern graphics due to its old engine.

Which do you think would be better between:
Ryzen 3700x with an RTX 3080 OR Intel 10900K with RTX 3070? I mainly play wow and a few other games. Unable to get hold of a new ryzen CPU that just released so these are my only options. (running on 1440p monitor and mainly into raiding)

Ray tracing in WoW just doesn't seem worth it right now, even with top-end hardware. The performance hit is just too big.
Seeing as most of the light in WoW is static and not dynamic its tough to tell where the ray tracing is making a difference apart from hard shadows. Was expecting more dynamic shadows near fire sources to be honest. I hope its not just me that feels this way…
